Chapter 16: Trick-or-treats and Misunderstandings, PART 1

As weeks passed, Y/n quickly began to adjust her personal life outside of the academy to that of the tutoring sessions. Despite it being difficult to manage at times, she knew she was very fortunate to even hold this much flexibility in her schedule compared to other students who entered this school like she had. She still managed to help out her aunt around the bakery, but obviously not as much as before. Yet Aunt Cady didn't seem to mind much, she encouraged Y/n to stay attentive to her education. Things were beginning to become normal.

As the h/c haired teen walked her way to the academy like she did every morning, she noticed she had yet to seen a certain blue haired male who would usually meet up with her sometime on the way to the academy. 'Probably decided to ride the entire way, it is getting cold.' She thought as a gust of wind further proved her point.

The leaves cracked under her footsteps, calming her subconsciously. And so she was in a tranquil state until she picked up the sound of another pair of footsteps also crackling the leaves. She turned around nonchalantly, expecting to see another person walking somewhere near her. But the sidewalk she was currently walking on and the one across from her were both vacant and not a single vehicle has passed by on the street. Y/n shrugged it off as just a trick of the ears, and so she continued walking. Yet soon after, she heard a pair of feet walking somewhere nearby yet again. This time, she pretended to stop and kneel down to retie her shoe laces. She listened closely for any footsteps and when she heard the 'crunch, crunch, crunch,' approaching, she confirmed someone was nearby. Standing up and looking around her, she was confused as to how she could be hearing this and not see any other person. She stared at the path behind her with a puzzled look. She was staring so intensely that she didn't notice the a figure approaching her quickly from where her back was turned.

"Boo!" The figure said loudly, grabbing the females' shoulders. Y/n jumped, startled by the sudden noise and physical contacted. "W-what," Y/n said hastily, her heart still thumping wildly. E/c eyes met the bright, big blue eyes of her assaulter, it took a second fro her to realizes she knew this person. "Brandon? What the hell was up with that," she asked, voice showing slight anger and annoyance, shrugging of his hands. Said male smiled brightly at the h/c. "Sorry Princess, I just wanted to scare you a bit, it is Halloween after all! Besides your scared face was cute~" The hyper teen said with a tone that was apologetic, yet jolly. 'Halloween, huh?' The female thought, almost forgetting the importance of today's date.

"Oh, right. Well, happy Halloween Brandon...but still, how rude," the female said statically. Brandon blinked his eyes and put on a pitiful look. "Oh come on, you're not mad, right?...Well, will you forgive me?~" He said with a puppy dog look.

Y/n blinked, "no."

"Sorry, but you need to go home. Don't you know it against school policy to bring Halloween masks to school?" The albino said maliciously, leaning against the cool metal of the lockers. "Really? That's unfair considering you have the privilege to do so everyday," the h/c haired teen replied. Damien scoffed,vexed. Brandon, who stood next to her lightly pushed the albino on the shoulder, "come on, that not very nice to say to a lady." Damien raised an eyebrow as he dusted off his shoulder, "lady? Where?" Y/n rolled her eyes, "you're not one to talk about being nice, Brandon," the female said, remembering the scare he gave her earlier. The blue haired male pouted, "I said I was sorry!" Damien, confused, though decided not to ask, 'tsked' and said, "I don't know why I even bother to talk to you geeks."
