KEVIN

It was nearly midnight by the time Kevin got back to the room. He walked through the door and let it slam behind him before he realized that Edd might be sleeping. Tensing up, he makes no sudden moves to check if he could hear someone else in the room. The only noise he heard was...a whimper?

Kevin stepped in further, passing the bathroom until he could see Double D lying in his bed. He didn't seem to be sleeping, but he also wasn't entirely aware that Kevin had returned. Was he in bed all day, Kevin asked himself. Rolling his eyes, he stepped back and closed the door behind him in the bathroom. Kev brushed his teeth and freshened himself up before returning to the room. Double D still made no sudden movements.

The redheaded jock tiptoed his way to his bed on the other side of the room. As quietly as possible, Kevin slid under the sheets. He made a quick glance at Edd's direction. It looked as if he'd been crying. A gripping feeling occurred in Kevin's stomach. He prepared to ask if Edd was sleeping. He chickened out. Forgetting about it, Kevin just slumped into the bed and let himself fall asleep. It was a long and fun day. He really didn't want to end it with a heart-to-heart talk with the Ed.

Kev shut his eyes and tried his hardest to fall asleep. Unfortunately, the same question played over again in his mind. What was wrong with Edd?

The next morning was a later start. Kevin checked the clock that read nine o'clock. It beat waking up at six for school. The messy-haired redhead sat up in the comfortable bed and rubbed the tiredness out of his eyes. He turned to his right to look at the windows. There was a sliver between the curtains that showed a bright, snowy day waiting for him outside. Turning the opposite direction, Kev took note of Double D still sleeping. Better shower now, he thought to himself.

The quarterback threw the covers off of himself and stepped onto the floor. Thankful for the warm carpet instead of cold wooden floors, Kev walked to the corner of the room where his bag was still sitting. He hadn't really had the time to unpack since he'd been busy since the first arrived. He noticed that Edd's suitcase was sitting right next to it. That was odd. Kevin thought for sure that the neatest of the three Eds would gladly organize everything to his liking before he would go to bed. Whatever happened last night must've been really bad. Kevin grabbed a pir of underwear and walked to the bathroom.

Kev turned the knobs on the shower until the water was just hot enough for his liking. He stripped down and hopped in, the first touch of the water sending a shock through his entire body. As soon as the shock had passed, Kevin's muscles relaxed completely. Every muscle screamed in soreness, finally realizing how much he actually did the day before.

Washed up, the water shut off. Kevin shoved the shower curtain to the side and grabbed the towel from the rack. He dried himself off to the best of his ability. "Good enough," he sighed to himself, wrapping the towel around his waist.

Stepping back into the room, Kevin carried his dirty clothes with him. A rustle came from the bed, the sound of Edd finally waking up. "Morning, dork." Kevin greeted him.

"Good morning, Ke-ahhh, good heavens!" Double D gripped the top of his hat and shoved it over his eyes to block his view. Kevin chuckled and smirked.

     "What's wrong with you?"

"I'm sure you're fully aware, Kevin, but you're very indecent right now." Edd shyly remarked.

Kevin knitted his brows and looked down at the towel. "What? You've never shared a room with another guy before?"

"Thankfully, no. I must remind you that I am an only child."
