NAZZ
The pretty blonde stood in front of the equipment worker again, prepared to take on some practice in her event before it bites her on the butt like it did Kevin.
Nazz was in charge of getting first in skate racing. The ice rink just so happened to be on the other side of the resort and there was no other equipment shed nearby. So, she was stuck walking while the rest of her team sat around inside and sipped hot chocolate and laughed at each other's stupid jokes.
A bitter feeling rose from her stomach. She knew she was being sour for thinking all of these things, but why did Sarah have to boss her around so much? Why wasn't she out practicing for her event?
"A pair of skates, please."
Nazz snapped out of her train of thought and turned to the man next to her. Whoa, she thought to herself. The black-haired-chiseled-jawed-tall-and-tan hunk before her turned to Nazz and gave her a friendly, bright smile. For years she'd been melting everyone with her own warm smile. For once, she finally knew what it felt like. Nazz stared into the man's melting brown eyes as he looked into her own piercing, mixed eyes. "Hi." he said to her.
"Hi." was all Nazz could say back. She was stuck staring at him.
"Are you from around here?"
Finally, Nazz blinked a few times and snapped her mind back into place. "No," she shook her head to shake away the warm feeling,"I'm here on a school trip. Are you?"
The guy smiled again. "No. I'm also here on a school trip."
"No way." Nazz smiled in return. "That's awesome. Where are you from?"
"Lemon Brook. You?"
Nazz's jaw dropped in disbelief. "Peach Creek."
They both were in complete awe. "Small world." he laughed. Nazz laughed with him. "I'm Cody."
Cody brought his hand up between them. "Nazz." she reciprocated, meeting his hand with her own. Cody politely shook, not too rough but also not soft. It was just right. Pulling away at the same time, Nazz blushed and tucked a strand of hair from in front of her face behind her ear. "So, uh, what are you all doing here?"
"Our baseball team raised enough money from our fundraisers to have a good amount left over. So, instead of just wasting it on stuff wedon't need, we decided to chip in a good portion of it to come here and then give the rest to the Lemon Brook Orphanage."
Nazz's jaw dropped once again. Of course he helped out an orphanage, she thought to herself. "That's awesome!" she expressed. Cody just blushed, obviously not used to getting recognized for his bold efforts.
"How about you? What's your school here for?"
"The seniors always take a trip in the middle of the year after midterms so we decided to come here."
Cody nodded in approval, agreeing with the entire senior class about their choice. "Well, it's a great place. I used to come here a lot as a kid. There's a bunch of great things to do. I'm sure you'll love all of them."
"I'm sure I will too." Nazz smirked, her cheeks blushing hard with bright red colors.
A slam came from the counter between them, a pair of white skates and a pair of dark blue skates sat before them. Cody just raised his brows in interest. "You're skating too, huh?"
