KEVIN

Kevin sat on the bed with his phone in his hand. No service. Go figure. Nazz walked into the room with her snow gear on, ready to go. "You know phones don't work up here, right?"

Kevin locked his phone and shoved it in his pocket. "I got that now."

"Look on the bright side. At least now you won't have all the underclassmen girls hitting you up all trip. You can just sit back, relax, and enjoy everything this place has to offer." Nazz sat at Kevin's side and forced her head onto his lap so they had no choice but to stare at each other.

Giving the blonde a smirk and a cocked brow, Kevin responds, "You're talking about yourself, aren't you?"

Nazz just shrugs and raises her own brows. Kevin smiles and rolls his eyes at her, the two of them laughing away. The door to the bathroom opened and Sarah walked out in her pink gear. It wasn't hard to see why. Pink looked best on her. Nazz had on white and black and Kevin had on green and red. Some things never change. "You two are gonna make me barf." Sarah teased with a grin. "You guys ready to get some skiing done?"

"You know it." Nazz sat up. "The sooner we get out there, the sooner I get to show off how much I should be in the Winter Olympics."

"She means the Special Olympics." Kevin corrects which earned him a smack on the shoulder from Nazz.

Sarah just chuckled at the two of them. "Alright, save it for the snow. Now let's move, people! There's a lot to do and not a lot of time to do it!" Nazz and Kevin both groaned sarcastically as they sluggishly marched out the door with Sarah pushing them from behind. "You'll thank me when you're having fun out there." Sarah winked at them and strutted off, her confidence soaring like no other. Kevin and Nazz exchanged a look before chuckling together.

Checking if Sarah is far enough away, Nazz leaned into Kevin to wrap her arms around his. "Find any eye candy yet?" she whispered in his ear.

A tense Kevin stared down at Nazz's pretty face, hoping that after a few moments of silent she would eventually drop it. Unfortunately for the quarterback, her eyes kept locked with his. Kevin only sighed and looked back up to watch where he was walking. "No, I haven't found any eye candy." he whispered back. "I'm not really looking either."

     "Why not?"

"It just doesn't seem important to me right now."

"Is this about the whole thing at the library?"

Kevin shot her a glance. "Maybe."

"Come on, Kev. If you're gonna keep it a secret then you might as well enjoy the benefits of it. You can look at whatever you want without any consequences. Most people will just think that you're brooding considering you do it all the time." Kevin's glance becomes a brood. Nazz raised her brows in an I-told-you-so way. Kevin noticed the familiar look she gave him quite often and just looked away. Finally giving up on him, Nazz just sighed quietly to herself while enjoying the comfort of her friend.

Outside was much more active. People were running around and talking loudly. The sun showed through the clouds, but the air was still frigid. Kevin and Nazz found their way to their assigned group, watching as Sarah made a small announcement before everyone would disperse. Kevin took a look around. No Edd?

"You okay?" Nazz asked, unable to tear away his concerned expression.

"I'm fine. Just, a little lost in thought is all."

Nazz was far from convinced by his response. At the mentioning of a skiing race, Kevin's expression prepped up with interest. Nazz smirked, knowing exactly what he was thinking. "Go get 'em." she kissed his cheek before he grabbed a free snowboard and headed for the ski lift with his teammates.

"Look out. Kev's got that look in his eye." one of the guys teased.

Everyone laughed, but they were right. When Kevin knew he was going to win, he held a quiet confidence in his look that made his opponents fear for their lives. "Yeah?" the redhead asked. "Then you guys might as well give up now."

The ride was short. Waiting for a clearing took longer than they expected. Finally, a group of them lined up at the top of the mountain with their boards, skis, and whatever else they could get their hands on. Sarah stood to the side with her left hand raised. "On your marks!" she yelled out. Most of them were afraid she would cause an avalanche. "Get set! Go!" Each of them sped off down the mountain. A couple of the guys were timid with skiing, barely gaining any speed and wobbling all over the place. A few more were more than capable of handling themselves. But Kevin...Kevin was a master.

Kev raced down the mountain with speeds unseen in a high school student. He zipped past other people and objects with a blur in his vision. His eyes were set on the prize ahead (there wasn't a prize; he just really liked to win). It didn't take long for Kevin to reach the bottom of the mountain, covered in splotches of white snow. Nazz was waiting for him, greeting her champion with a warming hug. "I knew you could do it!"

The redhead removed his goggles and grinned. He panted out cold clouds of air from his triumph. A few minutes passed before a couple more racers finished. Kevin greeted them with good sportsmanship even though most of them were terrible losers.

Once the last of them were at the bottom of the mountain, everyone met back up. Sarah stood in the middle of the crowd with Kevin's wrist in her hand. "Our winner, Kevin!" Sarah lifted his hand above their head and everyone cheered. Nazz was heard over everyone, cheering her man on. "And because he won, we all get to treat him dinner at the dining hall!" Everyone cheered louder, ready for food when being reminded how hungry they really are.

The crowd passed the victorious jock, leaving Nazz to stride her way up to him. "So how does it feel to win," she pauses, "again?" Nazz smiles. Kevin returns the smile.

     "Winning always feels good."

"Are you going to tell me what was bothering you before though?" Her mood shifted from the proud girlfriend to the concerned best friend.

Kevin rolled sighed uneasily. "It's nothing." Nazz raised her brows in a show of disbelief. "Look, it's nothing. Okay? I promise. Let's get back with the others before the guys eat everything." Nazz grins. "Oh, you think I'm kidding? Lance at a whole pack of brats by himself." Nazz broke as she laughed at the idea of Lance going to town on a pack of weenies. "Trust me. You wouldn't have been laughing if you saw it for yourself." Kevin gave Nazz a smile to calm her. He stepped to her side and wrapped his arm around her shoulders, escorting her to the dining hall.

Unfortunately, what was bothering Kevin before only continued to cause him discomfort. Where was Double D?
