DOUBLE D
The room felt quiet and bear to him. Being alone somehow wasn't any better than being with friends. That was something he never expected. Nazz had always been nice to Edd. She was especially nice when he was alone with her. Sometimes it would be under unfortunate circumstances that she would be forced to talk to him, but even then she would always be so nice to him.
Kevin, on the other hand, was quite a shock. He never said much to Edd. Most of the time he's always bickering with Eddy over something as small as a quarter he dropped on the ground or the last candy bar in the school's vending machine. Yes, there are different factors that must be taken into account, such as their rooming together and their now-mutual-friendship with Nazz. But what made things so complicated was his kindness. Kevin was never the one to voluntarily help him or his friends. They've never really spoken much since middle school. They both went their separate ways, making more friends and involving themselves in different activities. That still doesn't answer the question.
"Edd!" Nazz's voice could be heard coming down the hall. After a couple seconds had passed, Nazz was rushing into the room. She stopped and placed her hands on her knees in front of Edd's bed. Nazz panted heavily. "For someone that doesn't like running, you're hard to keep up with."
Shortly after, Kevin rushed in after her. "What happened?" he asked.
Double D sat with his back against the headboard and his knees tucked to his chin. His eyes were still watering up, holding back the tears he didn't want either of them to see. "Look, Edd, whatever I said, I didn't-"
"You didn't say anything wrong." Double D stopped him. "It wasn't anything you guys did."
"You don't have to talk about it if you don't want to." Nazz assured him, sitting at the edge of the bed.
Edd shook his head. "It's okay. It's just a case of miner miscommunication is all. It's nothing to become alarmed over."
The redheaded jock stepped closer, unzipping his jacket and throwing it over on his bed. "What does that mean? Did Eddy say something to you?"
The wide eyed Ed looked up at Kevin, his silence answering his question. Kevin bit back a bark he wanted more than anything to let out. "Ed and Eddy were planning this trip without consulting me at all. I had assumed that we would be partaking in the exhilarating trip of snow and excitement together, but it'd seem that they had other plans. Without me."
"Oh, Double D. I'm so sorry." Nazz apologized.
Edd shook his head at her, forcing a smile. "There's no need for sorry, Nazz. No one can take fault for this occurrence. I'm afraid that I just have to take into account that I've been a nuisance to my best friends for years. I'm willing to take acceptance of this fact."
"For once in your life, you're wrong." Nazz and Edd both shot and questioning look at Kevin who was standing proudly, confidently, and more than anything with a great deal of anger. "I've watched you go day to day doing stuff for those guys. They want something. You give it to them. They want you to do something. You do it. You've made their lives so much easier. You do so much for them and they never give you appreciation for it."
"I'm sorry, Kevin, but I'm not sure you have any account for goes on between my friends and me." Edd defended himself.
Kevin took a step forward and sat across from Nazz. "Actually, I do. We both do."
