DOUBLE D

The day had been better than first expected. After the night before, Double D that for sure that the entire trip was ruined. He hadn't at all expected to befriend Nazz or Kevin. He was thankful though. They'd stuck by his side the entire day, spending it with him and making sure that he was happy. Was this true friendship? Eddy never tried to cheer him up when he was down. It was always about what Eddy wanted or what Eddy needed. The closest thing to attention that Double D received from his friends was Ed asking him if he wanted to play zombie tag and then was pushed into a mud puddle.

For some reason, things were different with Nazz and Kevin. They were kinder. Considering their pasts together, this was a highly unlikely experience. The started off with a trip to the slopes with their group. Double D obviously stayed behind with Nazz while Kevin took off down the hill. My was he an expert. Nazz spent most of the time talking about Kevin and the dance team, which Edd enjoyed listening to. He loved obtaining new information, even if it was about a person rather than an academic subject.

After the slopes, the group returned to their rooms to change and then meet up in the sitting area where a game of Truth Or Dare was played with a side of hot chocolate. To say the least, Double D witnessed some very uncomfortable dares. Not to mention the truths he never wanted to know. Things no amount of science could ever make sense of.

The rest of the day fizzled out more. Sarah had everyone get in a group picture after dinner and then set off to plan out the next day's events. This gave everyone the opportunity to disperse and enjoy the rest of their night. Luckily for Double D, this meant sitting in the dorm with a good book and notes to prepare for class upon his arrival. As Edd sat on the bed with pen occupying his right hand and a book occupying his left, he looked comfortable and at home once again.

Kevin entered the room with the door clicking shut behind him. Removing his sweater, he watched Double D take notes. "What are you doing?" he asked, somewhat confused.

Double D didn't bother to look up from his work. "I'm simply preparing myself. Just because we are on a class, doesn't mean I shouldn't be dexterous with my work upon arriving back to our studies." Kevin just chuckled and shook his head. He walked back to his bed and threw the sweater on the bed before sitting next to it. "What's so funny?" Double D asked, glancing towards Kevin's direction, but not removing his face from the book in front of him.

"Some things just never change." Kevin smiled.

"This coming from the athlete of the year, every year?" Double D fired back, finally setting his work aside and crossing his arms. He raised a brow towards Kevin to dare him to retaliate.

"What can I say? It helps keep this body looking good." Kevin gestured his hands to his sides, mostly emphasizing his torso. For once, Double D actually took a moment to acknowledge Kevin's physical superiority. No, he was not the biggest male in the school but he very well could've been the most attractive. He wasn't too tall, maybe a couple inches taller than Double D. His green shirt clung to his torso to expose the structure of every muscle he had. There was no guess whether or not Kevin had a six pack. That was quite obvious. His pectorals were well defined and just the right size. His arms weren't too bulky, but the held enough muscle to show how hard he worked at his athletics. His legs also proved to be proficient, obviously never skipping a leg day. Whether anyone would like to agree or not, Kevin was a paragon of perfect fitness. "Dork?"

Double D looked back into Kevin's eyes. He blushed, unaware that he had been admiring Kevin's physicality for so long. "My apologies. I must've drifted off into a deliberation."
