Today had been a normal day for me. I got up, got ready for work at the animation studio, and had pretty much as boring of a day as usual until my shift ended at 2:00. The only thing that stuck out was the compliments on my vintage sweater and headphones. I had never seen them as vintage, though. I got them in San Fransokyo when I was visiting my cousins for Halloween. This outfit is considered trendy over there.

Oh, wait. Today is about to be just a smidge less normal.

A kid about my age stomps out of a garage, looking as if a dog had marked his oatmeal as territory, a red backpack on his back and hands in his pockets. Didn't I just see him go in there...? I stop walking as the guy turns my way and continues walking, staring at the ground until I speak up. "U-um... are you okay?"

The stranger looks up, expression practically ready to shoot lasers out at me until he sees my concerned look, which is when his own expression softens. "I will be," he mumbles, running his hands through his hair as he brings in a deep inhale.

"Do you want to talk about it?" His stark blue eyes meet mine skeptically, his eyebrows furrowing and his hands pausing on the top of his head.

"You're not going to rob me, are you?"

"What could I possibly rob off of you? Your homework?" I ask, smiling a little as he nods in understanding.

"Good point," he states, finishing with his whole "running-his-fingers-through-his-hair" thing and folding his arms. "I'm just a little frustrated with some classmates of mine. We're doing this group project and one of them is underestimating me."

"That sucks. Have you talked to him about it?" I lean on the wall beside me and he gives me an undecipherable look.

"We hardly know each other."

I think for a second, noticing this guy is not very sociable. "Okay... but that's how all people start out. We hardly know each other, but we get to know each other and try to understand each other. Some even become friends."

"I know how to make a friend," he retorts, folding his arms.

"So then be your classmate's friend. You're going to be working with this person, might as well be friends for the duration." I look down at my phone to see it's getting late, so I stand straight again and put my phone away. "I would love to get to know you more, but I have to go. I need to be home soon." I give the stranger a small smile before walking away, but pause when he calls out to me.

"Hey! I never got your name!"

"I'm Violet. You?"

"Hiro Hamada." I give a nod in his direction before turning the corner, leaving his eyesight and walking home.

"Watch out!" Iris screams, knocking over Devin while she's at it. A bullet whizzes past the two of them and Iris stands back up, pulling out her shield.

"So we meet again, Wolf Fae," BloodMaster murmurs as the episode starts to close out, the only thing left is the sound of an evil cackle.

"And that's the end of the season! Good job everybody!" The director calls out, ending today's meeting. The projector shuts off as everyone stands up, packing their things as I wait patiently, not wanting to deal with the traffic that I'm sure will be hectic.

I should have gotten out of there as soon as possible.

A loud BOOM shakes the building less than five minutes after the meeting and the screams of multiple people echo throughout the room, reaching my ears and putting me in instinct mode.

Hiding under the table.

Yeah, that may or may not be a good idea, but I stayed under there anyway.

"Well hello, everybody!" A male voice calls out. "I am back! You probably heard of me some... eighty years ago? Let me refresh your memory." My table flies up, revealing me hiding and showing a guy with a scarred face and jagged orange hair wearing a black suit you'd see in comics. "The name's Syndrome."

I raise an eyebrow at the man, confused. "Are you a mascot of Gemini Syndrome 2.0?" Someone asks, confusion growing.

The man freezes, his eyes wide and almost releasing the table. "You- You don't remember me?"

"I doubt my great-grandma was alive eighty years ago, sir," another one yells, leaving me too scared to talk to him.

"I am Syndrome! The last archenemy known to the famed Incredibles!" He looks around, waiting for looks of recognition, only to find more confused faces and people actually coming out of their hiding places.

"Incredible what?" A man asks, furrowing his eyebrows.

"No matter if I was forgotten. I certainly won't be now." The Syndrome man starts wreaking havoc, attacking people and destroying the room, anger in his eyes as he laughs maniacally at the fear he causes everyone.

People run out of the building, successfully getting away from this villain, but at the same time I realize I am doomed. I am on the ground right next to him and I am sure he's going to kill me. Knowing this, I stay sitting, staring up at the man in wonder.

"Why aren't you running, little girl?" He snarls, his attention now on me.

"You look good for an eighty year old," I say instead, successfully hiding my fear from him.

"You're not scared? What kind of fool are you!?"

"A logical one!" A girl shows up in the doorway wearing a blue jacket and a black skirt, her hood covering her face. "Of course she wouldn't run. You're right next to her." Then the weirdest thing happened.

Her form glitched.

"A hologram? Seriously? You couldn't even come in here yourself? I am disappointed. The future should have some more challenging superheroes, not a hologram."

Her form glitches over to me and picks me up, surprising me with the fact that she's real. "I'm not a hologram." She then glitches again, bringing me with her.

Thank you, VioletDeGamer for the OC!  How did I do?  Does anyone else want to put in an OC?  Oh!  And I was going to tell you my opinion on guys and girls being friends without romance.

It is very possible!  I actually have a guy friend and he is the best friend I could ever have (without romance, of course).  People often mistake us for dating, but we aren't.  We're just THAT COMFORTABLE.

Until chapter twelve (or whenever I update again)!
