You know how to treat people?
You know the age old saying 'treat people how you want to be treated',
Well that doesn't really apply here.
If someone breaks my heart,
I am not going to treat them with the same love and respect as someone who has proven they care for me,
Simply because I can't.
But I did nothing to you.
I didn't do anything to hurt you,
Never said a bad word about you,
Never laid a finger on you,
And yet you do this to me.
Oh yeah, you need 'space',
Well I need answers,
We were fine and now,
Well look,
We are broken.
You had my hopes and expectations as high as your damn ego,
And you let me down,
You let me down so hard and lost someone who would have done anything for you,
Meanwhile I lost someone who didn't care about me,
Which is more a gain than a loss in the long run.
But you hurt me so bad,
You ripped my heart out and shred it for the world to see,
You humiliated me,
Made me cry myself to sleep,
Emotionally tortured me,
Luring me in again and again.
And that is not how you treat people.
