Tears fill my eyes,
As I see your face.
My mind fills with the memories we made by laughing.
By being together we took risks,
Those risks became the best nights of my life.
And gradually the tears of sadness,
And what we used to be,
Became tears of anger,
From what you did to me.
And though you won't ask for forgiveness from me,
You will never be forgiven for breaking my heart when you knew I was already broken,
For lying to me when you knew I'd take a bullet for you.
And gradually the tears of anger,
And what you did to me,
Become tears of joy,
From how I am now happier.
Without you, I feel free,
Like there is nothing weighing me down,
I smile more, look in the mirror less, am more confident.
I have more faith in myself and what I have become, than I ever did from the words you spoke to me.
And though you broke my heart,
I proved I can put myself back together,
And make myself even better.
So thank you for allowing me to do that.
