Sydney went slightly pale, clenching her fists at her sides with the look of mortification plastered on her face, as I shared every last detail about the past few weeks with her.

I held my breath. Digging my fingers deep into the leather chair, preparing myself for her wrath to come. But it never came, instead, she turned away, and began to paces the office floor.

Outrage and disgust flashed across her sweet, china-doll face, and for a millisecond when I notice her looking toward me, I saw the sadness in her eyes.

like I had just punched her straight in the gut. She drops her head and continues to bustle-up the gray carpet with her yellow spiked heels for a few more moments, before walking back over toward my desk.

The intense look she gave me had me squirming in my seat, I was readying myself for World World Three to hit, and when the shit hit the fan.

I prayed that Sydney and I would still be BFF's. "Grace, you're in deep, deep, Crayola right now," she hissed out, "Not one, but two, bloodsuckers are after you.

Dammit, Grace. I tried to warn you, but you didn't listen. I practically begged you, to watch your back around Kane, he's bad JuJu, didn't I?" slamming her hands down on the desk.

I stiffen in my chair from her outburst and let my temper settle down, before replying back to her, "Sydney, when I found out about Stephen, I severed our relationship. And for the record, I didn't have a damn clue about Kane being a walking corpus until last night.
He used his Vampire voodoo shit on me," with disappointment in my voice, "How do you think that makes me feel, that I willingly let that tricky son of a goats ass, stroll inside my home, touch me, and drink my blood? Even thinking about it, makes me want to throw up right now."

"Grace....there are rules to abide by when you're dealing with vampires. Rule number one, never, ever look them in their eyes, otherwise might as well have severe yourself up on a silver platter for them, with plum-sauce, smothered all over your body," she said as if she were teaching a child vampire one oh one, bringing her hand up to her forehead.

"Grace I'm sorry, I'm acted like such a witch toward you. I'm not upset with you. I'm infiltrated with that no good for nothing, blood-sucking, ass hat of a vampire. I can't wait to get my hands on him, and shove a stake through his slimy, rotten, heart." she said, "Stay with me at my house, until we can figure this mess out, please?"

"Okay. Hey Sydney, I thought vampires couldn't go out in daylight. But Kane can, why?" Asking the vampire Guru.

"I don't know, but I'm going to find out, and kick his ass for taking advantage of you," she said, popping her bones in her hands. "Are you sure you're up to working today?"

"Yes."

No, I didn't feel like working today. I wanted to be run for the hills, and hide at the moment. But the more I sit and think about everything Kane could've killed me last night if he'd wanted to.

"Alright, then you may want to hang out here, inside your office today." Crossing her arms against her chest.

" And why is that?"

"Because, the way you look in your getup right now Boss-lady, no evince," waving her arms out towards me, " You'd probably scare off the clients today."

"Oh, you're so not funny," rolling my eyes, "For your Info, my dear friend, I always have an emergency bag here, just in case."

"Then what the hell are you waiting for? Go wash your face off, and run a brush through your hair, before I do a What Not to Wear Marathon on your nappy looking ass."
