💀Playing Nice💀

The day, before the Gala, I didn't even have time to think about Kane. We were all so busy at the store with the last-minute fittings for the Gala tomorrow night.

When we'd finally slowed down, I went into my office to rest for a bit. I was drinking on a bottle of water when Danielle and Sydney came into my office.

"Grace, would you like to explain too to me what's going on?" Danielle asks lifting one of her eyebrows up at me.

"What are you talking about Danielle?"
 

"Well... Your husband just called here, and told me to remind you, that he's picking you up formwork tonight." 

I looked up at her, like a deer caught in the headlights, I couldn't even blink them, I didn't know how too retract to Danielle, knowing I had a husband now.  Well, I guess the cat's out of the bag. 

"Look Danielle it's complicated."My fingers tucked my hair behind my ear.
 
"What, did you and Mr. Hot pants number, go to Vegas and get hitched, Grace?" 

 "No..!" I think we have a lot of work, that still needs to be done around here, instead of talking about my love life Danielle."

   
"It sounds like you're trying to avoid the question to me Grace, but if you're happy, then I guess I'm happy for you." 

"Thanks, Danielle, now let's get back to work everyone."  When Danielle was leaving, she smiles at me. Sydney walks closer to my desk."Grace, what happened last night with Kane?"

 
I tried to keep my voice low as I spoke to Sydney, "I really didn't have a choice, Kane said if I didn't stay with him, he would kill everyone." 
  
"Oh my God Grace...So what did Kane have a preacher on stand by?"
  
"No...Sydney, last night you know when we were." 
  
"Oh Grace, you slept with him again?"
  
"Look, the guys Hot okay, I was weak for goodness sakes! In our little love-fest last night I agreed to be Kane's wife."
 
 "That Sneaky.. little Vampire! Kane knows your not suppose to ask a woman things like that when yyou'rehaving sex with her."
 
 "Lower your voice Sydney! Well, if that was his plan It worked because now I'm Kane's wife."
  
Sydney held Grace's hand. "Hey, will figure this out, Grace."
  
" There's nothing to figure out Sydney,  I'll just have to learn to accept my fate."
  
"Hey, don't rain on my parade Grace!"
  
"Sorry, how about, you hope for the both of us.  Alright, I don't want to talk about this anymore, let's get back to work Sydney."

"Fine, have it your way, Grace." As Sydney was about to walk out of the room, she stops and look's back at me. "Grace, does Stephen know yet?"
  
"No, he doesn't Sydney."
  
"That Poor baster!" She said, before leaving the office. That night I gave everyone a hug before they left out, telling them I'd see them after the Holidays.
We were all taking a two week's vacation off from work, I think we all deserved some time off.

We'd worked quite hard on this Gala this year, now we could catch are breathes and get some needed rest.

I had been waiting on Kane for over a half-hour now, and if he wasn't here with-in the next ten minutes, I was going to drive my own self home tonight, I wasn't going to wait around on him all night.

I start to feel antsy and furious by this point, I could've already of been home by now. Deciding, that I wasn't waiting here any longer, I picked up my coat and bag from the chair and started walking towards the door when Stephen came in. 

"Stephen..." My voice meekly came out, "I see you made it back from your trip, I hope everything went well." He starts to walk towards me." Grace, I've missed you.

"Stephen please stop, Kane.." Before I could finish my sentience to Stephen Kane walked through the doorway. " There's my beautiful wife!" He walks towards me then bends down and kisses me.
