I had to hold my breath when I saw her. The lace of her dress gliding against her skin as she walked, her dress sitting just below her knees. Ben and Jack were standing beside me while mum and dad were down a little bit. Her hair was loosely curled with a cute flower crown that she had matching with Henley and her makeup was natural. She was practically glowing. Arielle was holding Henley as she stood next to Coleen and Kian. When she got to me I took her spare hands in mine and smiled widely. As the ceremony went on I couldn't help but tear up. When it got to the point I had to recite my vows I began to shake.
"To the girl who has been on my mind every day since I was fifteen, I love you. We've grown from two teens with an obvious hate for each other to a family building a household together with a love for banter and dad jokes. Today I want to make a promise to you. I promise that for as long as I'm alive you will never be alone, you will never question if you are beautiful, you will never doubt that you are worthy, you will never wonder if you are loved. You are an angel," I had to pause for a second due to me starting to cry, "my soul mate, and my best friend. I believe you bright into this world and destined to be loved by me, cherished by me. And I wait anxiously to be able to take the next step with you as my wife," both Ashlynn and I had to wipe away our tears before she began.
She took a deep breath before she looked me in the eyes and began speaking, "ever since I was a little girl I have wondered and dreamed about my wedding day. Never in my wildest dreams did I think it would be here so soon. In the past two and a bit years, Luke, you have taught me how to love someone unconditionally, even when all you want to do is hate them, given me the most beautiful daughter, whom I know we both adore more than anything in this world, and made my life both fantastic and like hell in every way. I would not change a second of our journey together even if it meant it was full of only love. Because as we all know, you can't have a rainbow without a little rain, and together we have created the brightest rainbow. I can hardly wait to leave here today as your wife and to start the rest of my life with you. I love you and thank you for our rainbow," she was tearing up so much throughout but successfully made it through her vows without having to wipe away the tears.
Ash and I said our "I do's" and as soon as my permission to kiss her left our minister's lips I cupped her face and kissed her harder than I'd ever kissed her before. Our family cheered as I continued to kiss her. When we finally pulled away I leant my forehead against hers and breathed in with a smile. Arielle handed Henley to Ashlynn then mum took some pictures. We were officially a family. Lynn and I signed our marriage certificate before we all left the courthouse to take some photos at the botanical gardens. The boys met us there to join in on the photos. Everyone got photos with everyone and we got a few group shots before heading back to mine.
"So...you guys are now legally a family," Calum smiled as we chilled in our living room.
"We are," Ashlynn confirmed.
She kissed me softly then smiled shyly. We all had lunch and drinks here before everyone migrated home. I followed Ashlynn back to her mum's place so she could get changed. While she was doing so I changed Henley's nappy and her outfit. Once they were both changed Ash fed Henley and I sat beside them both.
