Chapter 2

"Happy birthday, Princess Yona" The 3 men smiled, bowing to Yona. She smiled, bowing back.

I stood behind her, assessing them calmly, but my hands where gripped tightly behind me. The tension was almost unbearable today, but the party seemed blissfully unaware. What ever was happening, was happening tonight. And I was on edge.

"She's grown up so fast..." King Il sniffled from the side. Soo-won appeared in the doorway and Yona ran over to him. I glanced at Hak, our eyes meeting. I nodded to him and he followed after the two.

"Azumi, you look on edge" Min-soo said, coming up beside me. I smiled to him.

"It's nothing to worry about" I smiled.

"Of course it is" He said, frowning at me worriedly.

"Just watch the king for me, okay?" I chuckled, ruffling his hair. He nodded hesitantly, before going over to the king and offering him some wine. My smile faltered and I slid through the crowd and out the front doors.

Striding to the front of the castle, I stopped at the front court, noticing that most of the guards weren't in their positions. There was barely any guards, even though there should be more today.

Hak came up beside me, silent as he also looked at the posts where guards where supposed to be.

"I can't put my finger on it..." I muttered, frustration written all over my face.

"I wish I could say other why's" Hak agreed, crossing his arms.

"Your not with the princess?" I asked, not bothering to look at him. Annoyance flashed over his face.

"Soo-won is here, I'll leave her to him" he said. I squinted at the guards. They had noticed us and where staring back.

"Soo-won..." I muttered. Hak looked at me, blinking in confusion.

"I'm checking on the princess" I said. He nodded, turning back to the front. My hand instinctively went to my sword on my hip, as I turned on my heel and strode forward.

Striding toward's the princesses room, I noticed that something was amiss and stopped. Where is that whistling coming from? I turned, looking behind me went I felt something connect with my neck. My vision instantly blurred and I felt myself stumble onto the wall.

I pulled the thing out of my neck, but the damage was already done. I couldn't see or hear anything. Someone pulled my arm's behind my back, binding it tightly. I tried to fight back, but only found that my whole body slumped against the person behind me.

"Good night, Azumi" A familiar voice whispered in my ear.

Soo-won...

~Time skip~

My head felt like my head had been thrown into a brick wall over and over again. There was a sharp pain in my neck as I tried to move it. I hissed in pain, forcing my eyes open. Everything was blurry for a second, before clearing. I was in Soo-won's room, a guard standing watch from the door and that was it.

"Where is Soo-won?" I called at the guard. He flinched, looking over.

"Your not supposed to be awake" he growled, coming over. I glanced around the room and noticed my sword was hanging off the wall at the far end.

I dodged the guards blow and before he could blink, I stood up and kicked him straight in the jaw. He dropped unconscious, and using his sword I freed my self. I ran to my sword, picking it up and threw my self out the doors. It was quiet. Too quiet.

I bolted forward, running in no particular direction. until I heard someone scream. I ran into a courtyard and saw Hak and Yona surrounded by guards. Yona had a sword to her throat, Hak had his Guan dao on the floor, glaring at someone who had his back to me. Soo-won...
