Jae-ha sat, wrapped in a blanket in front of the fire. I leaned against him, half asleep.
"My dear, you should really rest~" Jae-ha coaxed.
"Shut up" I scolded.
"Why?" He asked.
"Your voice is sending my to sleep" I said, crossing my arms.
"Droopy eyes, I'll take over watch duty" Hak said, walking over suddenly.
"Oh, Hak" Jae-ha chuckled. I tried to sit up but Jae-ha pushed me against him again. The closest I had gotten to leaving was avoiding sitting in the blanket with him.
"That's awfully kind of you. But why don't you spend time with Yona?" Jae-ha offered.
"When I'm with the princess, her eyes dart all over the place" Hak replied, sitting down beside Jae-ha.
"Can I leave yet?" I grumbled.
"Oh, you're here too" Hak deadpanned.
"Against my will" I agreed.
"She looked like she was having fun talking with Yoon, so I think she's being soothed" Hak said, pouring some Sake for Jae-ha and I. I tried to deny it, but Jae-ha shoved the cup in my hands, finally letting me sit up. I sighed, giving up and sat with them, studying the reflection of the flames in the alcohol.
"She's probably nervous. Isn't that cute?" Jae-ha chuckled.
"Well, it is but..." Hak muttered.
"Wow, this conversation suddenly turned serious... Since you're going that route, I might as well ask, how does it feel now that you've put those feelings that you've held secret for all these years out in the open?" Jae-ha smirked.
"Honestly... I never planned to tell her..." Hak muttered.
"Even back at the castle?" Jae-ha asked.
"Even more so then. This is the princess we're talking about. She's not someone you can just irresponsibly throw one-sided feelings at. After a certain period of time, I stopped thinking thing's like 'I want her to see me' and 'I want us to be in love with each other'" Hak confessed.
"He killed off his feelings too much, and moved closer to enlighten this child..." Jae-ha muttered, sweat dropping.
"But when I did, it felt strangely refreshing. And that's when I realized, that maybe deep down, I've always wanted to tell her" Hak confessed.
"Let's celebrate with a drink, Hak" Jae-ha chuckled, holding it out. They clinked, then forced me to join in. They downed it while I sipped on it, staring into the fire now.
"In any case, the princess has you guys now, and her heart seems stable. So even if I say something, she probably won't be bothered" Hak deadpanned. Jae-ha sweat dropped.
They where as oblivious as each other.
"Maybe I should 'greet' her too..." Hak muttered.
"Greet?" Jae-ha asked.
"It's nothing" Hak responded.
"Oh, right. Yona said something about you have something to talk with her about, but then not talking about it? What was it?" Jae-ha asked. Hak's expression clouded ever so slightly and Jae-ha looked surprised.
"Hmm?" He asked.
"It's... Alright now. During the commotion in Xing, there was something wrong with me" Hak said.
"What do you mean?" Jae-ha asked. Hak was obviously hesitating.
"The princess... Let the hair pin go..." Hak said. Jae-ha obviously looked shocked. I didn't give a response, just silently listened.
