Chapter 45

"Sister!" A voice screeched.

I stepped into the courtyard and instantly understood was happening. I ran forward before anyone could blink and caught the arrow, right in my shoulder.

"Azumi...!" Kouren gasped. 

"Kouren, get to cover" I ordered, as the door slammed open at the other side of the court. Algira, Vold, Yona and Hak stood there, gaping. I gritted my teeth, ripping the arrow out of my arm.

"See, I told you she'd returned" I grinned, unsheathing out a dagger. Another arrow came sailing and I cut it clean in half. Everyone still stood there in shock.

"Damb it..." I muttered as I noticed that we where surrounded.

There was suddenly a storm of arrows shot. I cursed under my breath, slicing as many as could, but when I turned around, Neguro had caught many arrows.

"Are you safe, your highness...?" Neguro asked. 

"I'm fine..." Kouren muttered, absolutely shocked.

"Please, do not leave my side. The enemy is numerous, and their aim is on you, your highness" Neguro coughed, blood dribbling down the side of his mouth.

I bit my lip, frowning worriedly.

"I'll leave her to you" I said, clapping his shoulder.

"Soo-won's assassins?" Kouren asked.

"No, They're not! I came here to tell you that Soo-won promised to negotiate before deciding whether or not to go to war!" Yona cried. A victorious grin spread across my face.

"Is that really true, Princess Yona?" Tao gasped.

"Yona! Throw me your bow!" Kouren ordered. 

"You can't shoot right now, can you? Give it to me! Quickly!" Kouren cried. Kouren caught it, then aimed the bow over Neguro's shoulder.

I crept backwards, disappearing into the shadows. I quickly ran around, creeping up behind the attackers. 

"This body will be your shield. Use it freely! Soon, this body will be come useless... So please, use it" Neguro grinned. 

"Neguro..." Kouren muttered.

I came up behind the archer, stabbing him in the throat so fast and silently that he didn't make a sound. I picked him up and pulled him back. Everyone noticed, but kept their eyes on the archers. Wise.

"Let us meet again in the next life" She said.

"Sister!" Tao cried.

Another volley was released, but not nearly as strong. Half of the attackers where already dead. They only now seemed to notice this, and they all turned to me.

"Run!" Vold yelled.

I ran straight up to the assassin, kicking him straight in the head. He slumped off the roof as I flickered between each man, killing them. Arrows rained at me, but I was so fast, I dodged them all. Yona and Hak gaped at me as they walked away.

"I will gather the four dragons and Yoon! Make sure this war doesn't go any further!" I yelled to Yona.

"Right!" She yelled back as I stabbed the last man straight into the chest. I leaned up close to his face.

"You sick bastard. Princess Tao would never want this" I whispered, pushing him off the roof.

I then jumped straight off the roof and was free fall for a couple seconds, before I landed harshly on the floor. I rolled, breaking my fall, but it made my shoulder wound even worse.
