I hate to admit.
Daigo was much more diplomatic then I had originally thought. Straight away he got rid of slavery, and after earning the trust of the soldiers, set out to destroy it from this island completely. I helped him on these quests, once again representing Kouka. Just mentioning my name scared many of the men into submitting, which surprised and confused all the soldiers and Daigo. It had been a week since the old king was killed, and already everything was approving.
It was night currently, but even so, I was strolling through the streets. With my hand and wrist clasped behind me and underneath the cloaks, I couldn't be at any more peace. And any more on edge. The whole time I was here, I hadn't been alone. But the clan kept in the shadows, just in sight, to keep me on my toes. I had told Daigo that I was patrolling, but really I just wanted the leader to come out and get it over with. I was getting agitated, scared easily. I was second guessing my self too.
"Well what do we have here" A familiar voice chuckled behind me. My lips curling up slightly as I kept on walking. He'd fallen for the bait.
"Oi, don't start giving me attitude again" He growled, stabbing at me. I dodged with ease, turning around and raising an eyebrow at him. He blinked, not expecting me to dodge so easily.
"Honestly, I thought you where better then this. I once thought of you as my equal, but if you where foolish enough to fall into my trap, then I take it back" I smirked. They instantly looked around, expecting to get ambushed. I kicked a rock right into the forehead of one of them, killing him instantly. He crumpled to the floor and they all looked over, wide eyed.
"Hmm? What happened?" I asked innocently.
"You'll regret that" The leader snarled.
"Maybe I should have hit you instead" I hummed cheerfully, cocking my head to the side. He stabbed at me again and I once again dodged with ease.
"What's this? Your blows are softer then before. Are you scared to hit me? Maybe tired from following us around on all those raids" I hummed, teasing him. It worked instantly, his self control snapping as he charged me. He became a blur of movements, and I followed suit, dodging all his blows with ease. I then slid behind him and kicked one of his men straight in the throat. He gave out a croaking gasp, before dropping dead.
"What-" The leader began but gasped when he saw all of his men dead, and he had been slashing at nothing for at least a minute.
"You look like an idiot" I beamed, standing in-between the pile of dead bodies.
"Azumi?" A familiar voice gasped behind me. Shit, it was Daigo. The leader cracked up laughing, his cold laugh shaking across the road.
"Good luck getting out of this one" He cackled. There was a blur of movements, and then him and his men where gone.
"What is the meaning of this?" Daigo snapped.
"If I told you, you wouldn't believe me" I responded, my smile gone as I turned to him. I blinked in surprise when I found him surrounded by my friends.
"Those people..." Yona muttered, wide eyed.
"Well... This is notthe sought of situation I want to get caught in..." I sighed, brushing back my fringe in agitation.
"I thought they where after you!" Kija cried, looking hurt and stepping forward.
"They are, you missed the part where he attacked me" I said.
"Prove it" Daigo said coldly. I blinked in surprise then looked away, frowning. What could I do...?
"Your hand. Does it somehow tie into this?" Jae-ha asked, snapping me out my thoughts.
"Hand? Is something wrong with your hand?" Yoon asked.
"You could say that..." I chuckled awkwardly, placing my hand and wrist in my pockets.
"Show them" Jae-ha ordered. I glanced up at met eyes with him. He looked desperate. He didn't want our bond to break. I smiled sadly, lifting up my left hand. Or what was left of it. The moon shone against the skin that had been pulled and stitched together to make a stump. They all gasped, horror flashing across their faces.
"This is your proof. My hand was cut off by that man. He's been trailing behind me for ages now. And just when I finally lured him out and was going to get rid of the threat..." I muttered, gesturing to them.
"That's why you where trembling..." Yona muttered. I clicked my tongue in annoyance, already knowing how this was going to end. They would become over protective, and I would never be allowed to do anything again.
"Well, good night. I have to go plan" I said.
"Plan what...?" Yoon asked, frowning at me.
"How I'm going to lure him out again. I cannot let a psychopath like him run free..." I said, turning around and glancing at the alleyway. No, they where long gone. They would sail back across tomorrow no doubt, and then he would go for reinforcements.
"Why didn't you tell us!?" Yoon snapped. I blinked in surprise, looking back over at them wide eyed. They where...
Crying...?
"Yoon...?" I asked, leaning forward slightly and frowning at him. He charged forward and before I could blink, I was wrapped within his arms, a sudden warmth covering me as he sobbed into my shoulder. I stood there for a second, not knowing how to respond. I then smiled sadly, hugging him back tightly.
"I'm sorry if I scared you. I didn't tell you because I didn't want to be more of a nuisance then what I already am" I chuckled.
"You're the least troublesome beast!" He scolded. It was now Yona's turn to run over, crying. She swamped us both with a hug and I caught both of them, chuckling softly.
"W-When did it happen?" Yoon asked, Yona sobbing too much to ask. The guys walked over, Daigo staying behind, watching us.
"My recent ditch" I chuckled, sweat dropping at my own words.
"You have a lot of explaining to do" Hak scolded.
"Yeah..." I chuckled sheepishly.
"Did you do this yourself?" Yoon asked, snatching up my left wrist and studying the handy work.
"Mainly. I did the major work in the cell, and then the castle neatened it up" I sighed.
"Cell? Castle!?" Yoon cried.
"Umm... I'll explain later?" I said, questioning my self. I looked down at Yona, who was still clung to me around my hip and I smiled down at her.
"I guess I'm not allowed to leave your side tonight?" I smiled. She nodded, pressing her face into my side. I smirked, ruffling her hair, before glancing up at Daigo.
"Please excuse me for one second, that's all" I said, sliding out of Yona's arms and striding over. I left Yona stunned and everyone else confused.
"I will probably be leaving" I sighed, brushing back my fringe. Daigo had insisted that I at least kept my hair down while I was here.
"Already...?" He asked, sounding really upset. A sad smile stretched across my lips as I pulled him into a hug. His eyes went wide.
"I want to thank you. As a kid you gave me a reason to live, and even now you invited me in even though we are practically strangers" I said.
"Anytime" He smiled sadly, hugging me back. I then stepped back and held out my hand, beaming at him.
"Well, shall we meet again Daigo?" I grinned.
"Yes, yes we shall"
