"He was right about one thing. There is a lot more freedom" I sighed, hanging upside down form the tree.
It had already been a month since Yona and Hak had run free from the castle. Min-soo had been saved from the grasps of death by my emergency healing. Soo-won needed me to attend some of his important meetings, but that was it. What I found my self doing was either reading, training, or contemplating life. I was bored as hell. At least when Hak was around, I had someone to tease. When Yona was around, I had to fight the urge to roll my eyes. I got to flick Hak's ear when ever he made an asshole move, I even missed being a clothes rack for Princess Yona. And that was saying a lot. Because that was the most annoying part of my job.
But what sucked the most, was that Soo-won was not the same person. It confused me so much. He was the boy who convinced me to train, to become a body guard, instead of just a maid. He was the one who helped nurse me back to health with the king. He was the person I trusted before Yona and Hak came along. So how had I not sensed the blood lust in his eyes? He was no mere bunny. A wolf in sheep's clothing.
I sighed, flipping onto the ground as the blood began to rush into my head.
The only good thing about this was I got a lot of free food, I was allowed to do what ever the hell I wanted (King's orders. Beats everyone elses) and no one could question me. I could literally ride a horse the wrong way, and the maids couldn't even bat an eyelash in confusion. It was great. I was already pranking some of the servants. But they didn't argue, they enjoyed it. The death of the king had left the castle in a depressed state. I was bringing the mood back up, by leaving random fake spiders in bowls, or scaring a maid then catching her tea, or stealing food from the cooks without them even noticing, until half the bowl was gone. It was all simple, but efficient. And they enjoyed it.
"Azumi" Soo-won called. I glanced up from studying the tree and ran over, him beckoning me over. The only thing that ruined my mood, was the knowledge that Princess Yona and Hak where dead. That had left me emotionless for weeks. I had still not fully recovered. Pranks where slowly helping me.
"I've got a meeting to attend. Shall you accompany me?" He asked, smiling brightly.
This was what confused me most. I knew very well that he had killed King Il, mercilessly if I might add. But here he was, as childish as ever. The eyes of that cold killer where completely gone, replaced by the Soo-won I thought I knew.
"Sure, why not" I smirked, shrugging. Kye-sook growled in annoyance. He did not trust me in the slightest. I didn't trust me either.
Soo-won led the way, and I stood by his side as Kye-sook and him sat down with the 5 generals. I zoned out most of the meeting, knowing that it didn't affect me. I practically fell asleep, but I snapped awake when the sound of chairs shifting alerted me that the meeting was over.
"You almost fell asleep" Kye-sook scolded.
"It was boring" I said, shrugging. I didn't care if the other generals where still here.
"Your supposed to be on guard, all the time" Kye-sook scowled.
"I could argue with that, but I'm not bothered. Can I go find a tree to sleep in?" I yawned, turning to Soo-won.
"Go ahead" He said, waving over his shoulder as his eyes never left the map in front of him.
"Azumi" Someone called. I glanced up to find Mundok waiting for me. I smirked up to him and ran to his side, bowing slightly.
"Mundok, it's been a while" I smiled as we stepped out. The generals where all departing, but where obviously listening to our conversation.
"How have you been?" He asked nervously.
