All I could feel was pain... Weariness...
There was a blaring pain on my right shoulder bone....
My eyes snapped open when I remembered what happened last night. Oh no...
"Azumi, your awake" A familiar voice hummed.
"Geun-tae?" I asked in surprise, sitting up and raising an eyebrow at him.
"You did a number on your self" He said, pointing at my shoulder. I glanced down to find a light shirt, definitely not appropriate, but my whole shoulder was bandaged.
"I... Stuffed up... So badly" I muttered, studying the room wide eyed.
"We are in the capital of the fire clan. Soo-jin invited you in after Hiro had appeared in the middle of the night with you in his arms, unconscious" He hummed, studying me thoughtfully.
"You have a wife" I scolded, flopping back into my bed.
"She won't mind" he grinned, shrugging.
I stared at the roof in silence, my expression grim.
"Shit..." I muttered under my breath.
"That's not the sought of language a lady should use" Geun-tae smirked, obviously amused.
"Shut up adult sized baby" I scolded.
"Your injured and your still picking a fight?" He laughed.
"Shut up, your loud" I said, shutting my eyes.
My friends... Where they worried about me? Should I return to them? I certainly needed to apologize to Hiro and Aki first. But where should I go from here? I promised everyone I would stay with them, and I had returned that evening, but I left. I broke my promise...
My face covered in fury as I clenched my fist and slammed it into the futon.
"Hey now, that's not my property" Geun-tae sweat dropped.
"Can you leave the room for a second? I need to get changed" I said.
"Why are you getting changed? You need to rest" Geun-tae said, but stood anyway. He know I would get changed regardless, then beat the crap out of him once I was changed.
"I've made mistakes that I need to fix up" I said, sitting up again.
"Fine..." he sighed, stepping out of the room. I quickly got changed, clutching the diary to my chest. What would he do in this sought of situation...?
I dropped it once again into my pocket and strode out, right past Geun-tae.
"Why are you in such a bad mood?" He complained, running after me.
"Where is general Soo-jin?" I asked, ignoring his question.
"Right there" Geun-tae said, pointing out the window. I nodded, stepping out side. He was talking to his sons, so I stood out of ear shot distance with Geun-tae.
"Your not planning on leaving already?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.
"I have no idea what I'm doing. But I need to thank the general" I confessed.
"General Geun-tae, Lady Azumi. I'm glad to see you're up and moving" Soo-jin called form behind us. We both turned, smiling. I bowed low, walking over. Tae-jun gaped, instantly recognizing me. His brother how ever... Was he blushing? The emotionless robot was blushing? I ignored him, stepping up to Soo-jin.
"I wanted to thank you for your hospitality" I said, bowing once again as we had reached him.
"There's no need. I actually wanted to meet you either way" He smiled. I raised an eyebrow as I rose.
"Is there anything I do in return?" I asked. Geun-tae coughed into his fist. I shot a glare at him.
"That is quite a broad question. I can ask for anything?" He asked.
"I'd prefer not over the top..." I muttered, sweat dropping.
"You do not have to pay us back. I was happy to help someone in favor of the king" he smiled.
This crafty old man... It was obvious he was after the throne, and trying to get in my good books. I smiled back to him, hiding my weariness and pain with my smile.
"But now if you'll excuse me, I'll be leaving very shortly" I decided on the spot.
"Already?" He asked, blinking in surprise.
"Yes, I have some business to attend to" I said, bowing my head politely.
"I hope not out of this castle" He said. This man...
"Yes, out of this castle" I smiled up to him.
"What a shame. I heard your skills are legendary, I wanted to test them on my son..." He sighed. I raised an eyebrow and chuckled, crossing my arms.
"I'm afraid my 'skills' are not on for show. Thank you for the compliment though" I said, bowing again.
"Any time" he smiled.
I nodded and turned on my heel, striding away.
"Azumi?" Geun-tae asked, frowning as he hurried after me.
"He obviously want's me in his good books. He's after the throne Geun-tae. Because I'm in good terms with the king, He want's someone like me on his side" I said, slightly disgusted.
"You can tell all that from that awkward conversation?" He asked.
"It was like reading a book. He is really bad at lying" I said, stepping into the hallway.
"Okay, then what will you do now?" He asked.
"I'm going to pay a visit to the king, and hope he's not visiting here" I said, hurrying down some steps toward's the front gate.
"I have no idea what you think Soo-jin is planning, but isn't this too much?" He asked.
I strode across the front court and found Hiro and Aki talking. They went silent as I strode forward.
"This is the safety of the king we are talking about" I said, glancing over at them. Their eyes widened at my words. I smiled, but it was sadly. I wanted to take them with me, let them explore the world. But they worked for Geun-tae now. They obviously didn't have the guts to just up and go.
"Your leading your self to a quicker death" Geun-tae said, stopping at the gates.
"So what if I am?" I asked. Geun-tae clicked his tongue in annoyance.
"Geun-tae, I appreciate what your saying. I really do. But this is important" I said, placing a hand on his shoulder.
"You owe me flowers, for my wife" he scowled, crossing his arms.
"The best in the kingdom" I smiled up to him.
I then glanced at Hiro and Aki.
"I'm sorry" I mouthed and their eyes went wide. I pulled my hood over my head and strode straight out the gates, clenching my fists as I hurried forward.
Straight towards Hiryuu castle.
