Celestine's POV
"Great job out there Storm." Griffin cheered lightly as he clapped him on the back, "really, I mean literally three weeks ago you were still sulking around. I would've made a bet with Jackson that you couldn't even run a mile."
Rolling his eyes Storm scoffed and pushed Griffin's hand away from his head. "I just wasn't in the mood." He turned away from him, causing the medals around his neck to clink against each other as they hung proudly in shiny gold. "and stop touching my hair, its wet and you're messing it up."
Griffin was chortling around in the background as I turned to Storm and gave him an encouraging smile, "it still looks good to me." I offered him a lop-sided smile, patting him lightly on the shoulder.
"Really?"
"Really."
I could faintly hear Griffin tutting and practically felt the roll of his eyes at us, "Come on guys," he huffed, "Save your flirting for later, its suffocating me." He pressed his palm to his chest dramatically before his lips contorted to a tight grimace.
Storm decided to ignore him as he faced away from Griffin and slung his arms around my shoulders, pulling me closer to his body as we walked to his car. Griffin was grumbling behind us, something about making him feel like a third-wheel but I paid no attention to him, especially when I felt the tip of Storm's nose brushing against the side of my cheek, his lips dangerously close to my ear.
"Do you have any plans for winter break?" he whispered.
His question was seemingly innocent, but as I was about to give him my answer, I felt his teeth lightly nipping the lobe of my ear, his lips closing around the area, and barely brushing my earring.
His little nibble sent my brain into a frenzy. Completely forgetting where we were or what was happening around me, I couldn't help but sink my fingers into his slightly damp hair. Storm was never usually that much of an affectionate person. Sure, sometimes he would hold my hand or play with my fingers or even have his arms around me, but it would always be so discreet that I sometimes think he does it unconsciously out of instinct.
At this point, I have no idea what we are regarding our relationship. We seemed to be getting along well enough and we're both very comfortable around each other, sometimes even too comfortable. I'm pretty sure we've established that we have strong feelings for each other, but no one has taken the first step to ask the other out.
"Celeste?" Storm voice broke me out of my trance, "I didn't get an answer."
"What did you say again?" I turned towards him with an apologetic grin.
He pulled me closer towards him before pressing a feather-like kiss on my temple, "I was asking if you had any plans for winter break, but you seem distracted," he gave me a sly smile.
"Celebrate Christmas I guess. Anyway, I can't believe you're graduating next semester!" I pointed out as it hit me.
Storm had caught up with his grades and homework last term, so the school let him back to senior year. I mean, the only reason why he was pulled a grade lower was mainly because he was flunking at the start of his senior year, but as he caught up quickly, the school decided to let him graduate at the end of the semester.
It just became apparent to me that I might not ever see him again after graduation because he would be going to college, maybe even find another person that catches his attention. He'd forget all about me, all about the memories we've created and shared.
Storm and I hadn't acknowledged our current relationship yet, and where this wouldn't bother me usually, I find myself nervous about it. It was obvious that I felt something for him, and I could only hope he'd feel the same for me. What if what he felt for me was just infatuation? Infatuation that he'd get over by the time he gets to college where there are more options for other girls who are more interesting and prettier. We would no longer have a common ground to meet, like we would when we're here in high school, and it's not like he was going to come back to high school to visit his... his what?
