Through the Years

4- Exchange LA

Kayla opens the door to her trailer and sits on the couch. She sighs heavily while checking her phone, replying to some messages. We see Kayla go to her contacts app on her phone. Her thumb hovers over Cassandra's contact.

We see Kayla pondering the thought of calling Cassandra to talk about what she heard this morning. After a couple more seconds Kayla decides to not call her. We see Kayla lay down on the couch and close her eyes. A couple minute later we hear a knock on her trailer door and see Kayla's assistant, Sarah, come in.

Sarah: "Hey, girl. Here is your dress for tonight. The party is at Exchange LA. The car will be here to pick you up in about 30 minutes, so you should start getting ready."

Kayla nods her head and starts to sit back up. Sarah starts to walk out of the trailer, but stops and turns back to look at Kayla.

Sarah: "Do I need to get you a dress for that reunion back in your hometown? I just want to get you something nice before it's too late."

Kayla: "No, that's okay. Cameron and I aren't going, we're just staying with my parents that weekend. If you could just RSVP for us that would be great!"

Sarah nods her head before walking out of the trailer, closing the door behind her. Kayla gets up and starts getting ready to go to the club.

We fly across the LA landscape and land outside of a small club. We see people standing in line waiting to get in as other cars pull up letting people out. We see the bouncer let Kayla into the club while paparazzi take pictures of her entering.

Inside, it is room is dark with neon colored lights changing quickly. There are people everywhere, dancing, talking and sitting at the few tables that are set up around the room. Music is blasting. Kayla decides to walk over to the bar to get a drink.

Bar Tender: "What can I get you miss?"

Kayla: "Jack and Pepsi please. Make it a double."

The bar tender nods his head and starts making her drink. Kayla's co-star, Austin, is also at the party. He sees Kayla at the bar and sneaks up behind her, slightly scaring her.

Austin: "A double Jack and Pepsi huh? If I didn't know any better I'd say someone had a rough day. But now that I think about it, the only time I didn't see you today was this morning, before work, and when we were on the way here."

Kayla: "Your point being?"

Austin: "Either you hate working with me or something is bothering you."

Kayla: "I hate working with you."

Austin: "Ouch...that hurts."

Bar Tender: "Here's your drink miss."

Kayla smiles at the bar tender and giving him a tip . She turns around and looks at Austin while taking a sip of her drink.

Kayla: "What?"

Austin : "Come on, lets go sit down."

Austin takes Kayla's hand guiding them through the crowd of people. They see some people they both know, saying a quick hello while making their way over to a table. Austin decides to be a gentleman and pull out Kayla's chair for her to sit in. Kayla sits down putting her drink on the table. Austin takes the seat next to her.

Austin: "What's going on? I'm worried about you."

Kayla: "I just have a lot on my mind."

Austin give Kayla a look, not buying it.

Kayla: "I don't want to bore you with it."

Austin: "I'm sure whatever it is, it won't bore me."
