2- Who's Krystal?

**Kayla hears Cameron, her boyfriend, whispering downstairs in the living room. Kayla stops on the stairway when she hears a second voice coming from the living room. Kayla decides to stand on the stair case and listen to Cameron's conversation.**

Cameron: "I hope Kayla's okay with it. Do you think she knows?"

Cassandra: "No! Absolutely not. Why, do you think she knows?"

Cameron: "No, I mean she hasn't been herself the past few weeks. I'm really nervous about this Cassandra, what if Kayla found out?"

Kayla mouthes to herself "Cassandra" in a confused manner. Kayla continues to listen to the conversation, still trying to figure out what they are talking about.

Cassandra: "Cameron, Kayla doesn't know. If she did, she would have said something to me about Krystal. You planned it out perfectly, Kayla's not going to find out."

Cameron: "Yeah, it was planned out perfectly until I found out Kayla doesn't want to go to the reunion. Now that plan just goes to waste. How am I suppose to see Krystal and surprise her?"

Kayla tries to take another step down the stairs quietly. The stairs creak, which draws Cameron's attention.

Cameron: "I think she's up, I'll call you later."

Cameron ends the FaceTime call before Cassandra can say anything. Cameron walks over to the stairway to see Kayla standing on the stairs. He looks at Kayla as she continues to look at the floor.

Cameron: "Good morning gorgeous! Sleep well?"

Kayla: "Yeah. Sounds like you and Cassandra had an interesting conversation."

Cameron: "She was just helping me out with a problem I was having."

Kayla: "Cassandra lives in France. What problem did you have that I couldn't help out with?"

Cameron: "It was nothing important."

Kayla: "Well, I'm sure Krystal will be happy to help you out with any problems you have while I'm at work."

Kayla huffs and stomps back up the stairs annoyed. We see Cameron following her as she goes back into the bedroom.

Cameron: "So you heard?"

Kayla: "Yeah, Cameron I did! Did you think I wasn't going to find out?"

Cameron: "Why are you mad, I-"

Kayla: "Are you kidding me?! Tell me Cameron how the hell am I supposed to feel when I find out my boyfriend of three years has been cheating on me? Huh?"

Cameron: "You think I'm cheating on you?"

Kayla: "Don't act stupid with me Cameron."

Kayla glares at Cameron. They stare at each other for a couple of seconds. Kayla walks into the walk-in-closet to change for work. Cameron stays in the bedroom.

Cameron: "Kayla...I-I'm not cheating on you."

Kayla comes out of the closet wearing nothing but her bra and underwear. She has a shirt in her hand. She starts putting on her shirt while looking at Cameron.

Kayla: "You're not cheating on me!? Then who the hell is-"

Cameron: "Krystal is...She's a travel agent from NYC that I'm using to book you a now, not-so-surprising trip, after you finish filming this movie you've been working on for months. I was hoping we could go to the reunion so I could meet up with her to finalize all the details. I was going to give it to you after the reunion, but now you don't want to go to the reunion so..."

Kayla is silent for a couple of seconds not sure if she should trust Cameron. Kayla walks back into the closet and put on a pair of jeans.

Kayla: "I told you I'm not going to that reunion. I will go back home and visit my family for the holidays, but I am NOT going to that reunion."

Kayla shuts off the light in the closet and walks out into the bedroom facing Cameron. Cameron nods his head slowly. Kayla continues to stare at Cameron intently, still wondering if she should trust him.

Cameron: "You can stare at me like that all you want. I'm telling you the truth, Krystal is just a travel agent."

Kayla: "Normally I would believe you but-"

Cameron: "Why? Did I do something to-"

Kayla: "No, no..."

Cameron: "Is it someone at work? Or...maybe... something that happened the last time you were in New Jersey...with your friends?"

Kayla looks at Cameron, but doesn't say anything.

Cameron: "Okay, How about this? The reunion is-"

Kayla sighs and rubs her hands over her face.

Kayla: "I don't want to go! I don't understand why you are being so pushy about this? For weeks you've been bringing it up and every day I tell you the same thing."

Cameron: "Kayla please stop acting like this."

Kayla: "NO! I'm not going. That part of my life is in the past. Just deal with it."

Cameron: "Fine. We can just go to the city and see your family that weekend then."

Kayla: "...whatever."

We see Kayla walk down the stairs and out of the house, slamming the door behind her, leaving Cameron standing alone in the bedroom.

Kayla gets into her car taking a couple of deep breaths to calm herself down. She starts the car and the radio comes on. Kayla checks her appearance in the rear-view mirror to make sure she looks okay. She then pulls out of her driveway and heads off to work.
