6- To the Reunion We Go

Cameron and Kayla are sitting in the back of Sarah's car as she drives them to the restaurant the reunion is taking place at. Kayla is looking out the window, playing with her fingers. Cameron places a hand on top of Kayla's hand causing her to jump a little and look at Cameron.

Cameron: "Nervous?"

Kayla: "A little bit."

Cameron: "I'm sure every thing will be fine. I think people will be excited to see you."

Kayla: "Yeah, lets hope."

Kayla looks back out the window as Sarah turns into the drive way of the restaurant.

Cameron: "Ah, here we are."

They start driving up the long, steep, winding road. They get to the top of the mountain, Sarah pulls into a parking spot and puts the car in park.

We see other people walking toward the entrance of the restaurant. Sarah walks into the restaurant as Cameron jogs over to Kayla's side of the car opening her door for her to get out. Kayla wraps her arm around Cameron's arm. They start walking towards the entrance.

Kayla looks around the room, recognizing most of her old classmates. Most of the people in the room see Kayla and start to stare at her. Kayla becomes insecure and starts to stand more behind Cameron than next to him. Sarah walks up to Cameron and Kayla giving them their place cards.

Sarah: "Okay, here are your place cards. I'm going to be sitting at the bar. You guys only have to stay for two hours max. However, KAYLA, that doesn't mean you give everyone here the cold shoulder. ACT like you are happy to be here and mingle with whoever, otherwise we'll have to stay longer. Do you think you can handle that?"

As Kayla nods her head yes as a girl, Steph, comes running up to Kayla excited to see her.

Steph: "Oh. My. Gosh. Kayla, girl you look gorgeous in that dress. It's so nice to see you, I thought you weren't coming. And you must be Cameron, you are even more handsome in person!"

Kayla smiles at Steph's kind words as Cameron lets out a small laugh because of her outgoing attitude. Kayla watches Sarah slowly drift away from them as Cameron starts to talk to Steph.

Cameron: "Thanks, it's nice to meet another one of Kayla's old friends. What's your name again, I didn't catch it."

Steph: "I'm Steph. I've known Kayla since 7th grade. We were pretty close in high school. She always had these crazy stories for me. Let me tell you, your girl lived a crazy life."

Cameron: "Is that so? Have you been holding out on me babe?"

Steph: "Oh, don't worry, I'm sure Kayla didn't leave out anything. Those stories are pretty hard to forget."

Kayla, continuing to be insecure, leans into Cameron's side before she lets out a small smile and a light laugh at Steph's excitement to see her. As Steph and Cameron keep talking, Kayla scans the room and spots Cassandra with her husband, JP. We see Kayla thinking to herself for a couple of seconds.

Steph: "and then Kayla walks-"

Kayla: "Steph it was nice to see you. I'm sure we'll catch up later, but I kind of want to go say hi to Cassandra and her husband before I loose them in this sea of people."

Steph: "Oh, of course, go on ahead. I'll catch up with you later. I want to hear all about working with that hottie Austin. What was that like your fourth movie together?"

Kayla: "Yeah, something like that. I'll tell you about it later."

Steph: "Okay, sounds good. I'll see you later girl! It was nice meeting you Cameron."

Cameron: "Thanks, same to you."

Kayla pulls Cameron away from Steph and starts making their way through a crowd of people to get to Cassandra and JP.

Cameron: "Why did you do that, she seems to be friendly?"

Kayla: "Because if I'm going to be stuck here for two hours I'm going to start by talking to my best friend first, not some girl I haven't talked to in 10 years."

When Kayla and Cameron approach Cassandra and JP, Kayla gets a big fake smile on her face.

Kayla: "Well, well, well, look who flew all the way from France to be at this reunion."

Cassandra turns around and see Kayla. Cassandra excitedly gives Kayla a tight hug while JP and Cameron exchange a hand shake.

Cassandra: "OH MY GOD YOU CAME! I thought you weren't going to come. How are you, I've missed you so much. You look great! Are you eating? Oh my gosh, Cam please tell me she is eating I-"

JP: "Hun, calm down, I'm sure Kayla is fine."

Cameron: "Yes, Kayla is eating. We are going to get you guys something to drink, we'll be right back."

The girls watch Cameron and JP leave for the bar while they continue to talk.

Cassandra: "What table are you guys sitting at? We have so much to catch up on!"

Kayla: "We are at table 13."

Cassandra: "Yay! We are at table 13 too!"

Kayla: "Just our luck."

Cassandra: "You're so superstitious Kay. I'm sure we'll be fine."

Kayla catches a glimpse of Cameron and JP at the bar. She sees a girl she graduated with, Krystal, talking to Cameron at the bar. Kayla sees Krystal give Cameron a hug with a big smile on her face.

Kayla: "That's the Krystal he's been talking to?"

Cassandra: "Huh?"

Kayla: "Oh...nothing. Just thinking out loud to myself."

We see Kayla get a little upset, but it is not evident to Cassandra. Cassandra and Kayla continue to talk about what is going on in their lives until JP and Cameron come back from getting drinks.

JP: "Should we all go to our seats?"

Cassandra: "Yes! These shoes are totally killing my feet."

Kayla laughs at Cassandra's comment and makes their way over to table 13. As they get closer to the tables, they realize that some people are already sitting down enjoying the company of their old friends.
