Cameron takes Kayla's hand and helps her out of the car. He closes the door and they start walking over toward the tree. The car stays parked in its place.
Kayla: "Cam, it's cold. Could you please tell me what's going on?"
Cameron: "Soon Ace."
Cameron wraps his arm around Kayla's waist. They continue walking slowly.
Cameron: "I've never been to New York during the Christmas season. I can see why you like it so much."
Kayla: "Yeah...it's actually a lot better when it's more crowded. There's people ice skating down there, and a lot more people trying to take a picture in front of the tree. The smell of the roasted nuts from vendors. Every thing is lit up. It's just...gorgeous."
Cameron: "I bet it is. Do you have a favorite memory?"
Kayla: "When I was younger, my dad's company used to have a trip. They would bus us into the city and we Would come here and take photos, then go to times square and just walk around. Then we would go to Radio City for the Christmas Spectacular. I would always fall asleep before the end, but I always looked forward to that time of the year. It's been years since I went to see that show."
Cameron: "Well, maybe next year we can get tickets."
Kayla: "I'd liked that."
Cameron and Kayla finally reach the tree. They stop and stand in front of it.
Cameron: "Kayla."
Kayla: "Cameron."
Cameron: "I'm so happy I get to share this moment with you. I know the whole night didn't go exactly like you wanted it too."
Kayla: "Awe, I'm happy to be here with you too babe."
Kayla gives Cameron a kiss on the cheek and hugs him.
Cameron: "You know, I was talking to you're dad tonight before we left."
Kayla: "I saw that. It seemed like a deep conversation."
Cameron: "It was. It was a very serious one, about you of course."
Kayla: "About me?"
Cameron: "Well, you are an only child and his little girl. It's only natural that I, being your boyfriend, have a few serious conversations with him."
Kayla: "I mean I guess..."
Cameron: "Well, tonight's conversation was slightly more important to me. As you know we're going on this trip and I wanted to let him know the details, but I also wanted to ask him permission-"
Kayla: "You asked my dad's permission to take me on a vacation? We've been living together for a year and a half, I don't think you need to ask him permission."
Cameron: "Well...this was a different kind of permission. Not just for a vacation, but for something a little more permanent."
Kayla: "What?"
Cameron: "Well...you see...Krystal wasn't exactly a travel agent."
Kayla: "I knew it."
Kayla starts to walk away. Cameron grabs her arm so she can't walk away.
Cameron: "Wait...you didn't let me finish."
Kayla: "Well I really don't want to here any of this."
Cameron: "Kayla...Krystal wasn't a travel agent. She was and still is a sales associate at Tiffany's."
Kayla: "What the hell? What does that matter? That still doesn't explain why-"
Kayla sees Cameron start to get down on on knee.
Kayla: "Oh my-"
Cameron: "Ace, my gorgeous girl. I know you have been though a lot in the past year, but also before our relationship began. Your strength through all of it has been more than applaudable. Our love hasn't always been perfect. It hasn't been a fairytale or a movie. And it doesn't always come easy. I guarantee there'll be tough times. I guarantee that at some point, one or both of us is going to be angry with each other. But I also guarantee that in my heart, I know you are the only one for me."
Cameron takes Kayla's left hand.
Cameron: "Kayla Marie Anderson, I have been in love with you since the night you fell into my arms at that charity event. You have cared for me and supported me when I was at my worse and at my best. I loved you when you spilled red wine on me within our first month of dating all the way to when you woke up next to me this morning with no make up on. You've trusted me with you're heart for the past 3 years. There is no bigger honor I would like to carry than for you to become my wife."
Cameron pulls a small box out of his jacket pocket, letting Kayla's hand go. Cameron opens the box.
Cameron: "So, Kayla Marie Anderson, will you give me the honor and say yes to marrying me?"
Kayla: "Cam...I."
Cameron stares at Kayla intently, trying to read her face.
Kayla: "So that's...Krystal, she..."
Cameron: "Yes...that's all."
Kayla: "Oh my god. I'm so sorry. I just-"
Cameron: "Ace, you can apologize after."
Kayla: "After?"
Cameron gestures to the ring.
Cameron: "You gonna keep me waiting down here or?"
Kayla: "Oh. Oh my god, I'm sorry...I"
Cameron starts to get up from the ground, thinking Kayla is going to say no.
Cameron: "It's okay, I understand you're not-"
Kayla: "Yes!"
Cameron: "Yes?"
Kayla: "Yes...Yes!"
Cameron gives Kayla tight hug. They give each other a kiss. We suddenly see a bunch of camera flashes go off. Kayla quickly pulls away from Cameron. We see all of Kayla's parents and her friends from the reunion standing in front of them, taking pictures.
Kayla: "OH MY GOD!!"
Kayla buries her head in Cameron's chest. They both start laughing.
Cameron: "May I?"
Kayla: "Oh, right."
Cameron and Kayla laugh. Cameron slips the ring on Kayla's hand and her friends and family take pictures. Cameron and Kayla kiss as all of her friends and family cheers. The camera pans up so we see the night sky.
