The next day actually turned out to be fairly normal. And I say fairly because something at the very end of this chapter happens.
Make sure to like, comment and follow me at- sorry, the Youtuber side in me was starting to come out.
I headed down to breakfast without a throbbing headache. Obviously, everyone else was super careful around me in the dining room and in the canteen!
To say that I was irritated was a complete understatement.
After that, just before lessons, I walked to the infirmary to get my bandages replaced and then ran to the History of Magic.
We'd do a mock exam and then peer mark the mock exam. Unfortunately, mum wasn't my history teacher so I was stuck with some random Ken doll to teach me.
No joke, he actually looked like Ken with the hair and the white suit and everything _ pretty sure his name was Ken too!
After that, I went to beast taming where we looked at how to protect yourself against a demon snake's venom.
However, I spent around about double the time of the others to actually get the antidote finished!
Ah, bleep you super painful burn!
Later on, I walked to art and started creating a 3D image using my powers.
You see, I control all light and so, I can manipulate what others can see.
A useful skill, I know.
However this type of thing drains a lot of energy so just before the lesson ends, we stop and have some high sugary drinks and sweets.
That is why, my friends, I love art. I mean, free snacks _ who wouldn't love that?
Later on, after a quick break, I headed to power control. It was probably one of the most important classes in Magus Academy.
Not only do you learn how to access your powers, but you also know how much power is too much.
Sometimes, a Celestian would use so much magic that they die from exhaustion.
You see, using your powers may be easy, however, it's even easier to use too much and lose control.
So basically like sprinting for hours but with the extra risk of dying.
Every single power control lesson is usually me and Jamie taking turns to use our powers to finish a set of challenges our teacher gives us which was somehow really fun.
Well, that may have had something to do with the fact that we get more sugary snacks before the end of the lesson.
I need my food ok?
Anyways, later on, after lunch, I headed down to the battle training area with Jamie.
In the very corner of the room was a shooting range.
A very hard one.
I remember that I spent hours trying to learn how to position myself correctly, let alone hit the target!
After that, me and Jamie walked over to the living area, only to be greeted by about two dozen guards.
"What the bleep!" I whispered loudly to Jamie as he furrowed his brows.
"No cursing," he spat as I rolled his eyes.
"It's not even a bloody swear word!" I growled, causing Jamie to mumble something under his breath.
"What did you say?" I asked threateningly.
"That you-" Jamie was about to continue until he was rudely interrupted by Sophie and Max, who were waving a newspaper frantically in the air.
"What's up?" I asked the two of them.
They ignored my question and rushed towards me.
"Read this," Maxine demanded, shoving the paper into my hands.
I simply rolled my eyes imagining some sort of stupid gossip.
That was definitely not what I saw. At all.
In front of me was an article of a group of escaped convicts.
An image of all the criminals was put in the centre of the paper.
One face, in particular, stood out for me.
"Charles..." I whispered almost fearfully.
I could practically imagine him stabbing me repeatedly, laughing satanically.
"He's out there," Jamie whispered next to me, keeping a hand on my shoulder.
"Well, at least that's another plot twist that these "readers" will like," I added, attempting to lighten the mood.
Maxine simply shook her head and said, "Not really. Everyone probably expected it. I mean, I did at least.,"
The three of us rolled our eyes simultaneously before turning back to the paper.
"Are we gonna be fine?" Sophie asked timidly.
"You? Yes. Me? Definitely not," I replied.
"Well, then, I guess we'll just have to stick with you then," Jamie said, his hand still on my shoulder.
"But... but... I'm literally a trouble magnet!" I protested as Jamie simply shrugged.
"Listen, we're not just gonna run away to save our butts. We have our own queen and essentially our own kingdoms to protect. I don't really think we'll leave you just like that," Jamie explained.
I simply smiled, amazed at how loyal Jamie was.
"Thank you," I said, gratefully.
Well, at least I wasn't blushing.
Oh, bleep! I was...
