Back At the Fountain of Youth

Moonlight's POV:

After Eli had knocked out Sonic and cut up my arm and legs, she turned towards the Saint.

"A knife? Really? Against a swordsman? Why does a Saint even have a weapon?" Eli slurred.

River smiled and spun her knife. "A Saint needs a knife when she has to protect the Fountain against people like you."

Eli looked at the bubbling purple liquid and made a face. It obviously didn't look very appetizing. I didn't care either way.

River's knife turned into a spear. She threw it at Eli and she cut it in midair. Eli launched herself forward and stabbed River through the chest. She coughed up blood all over Eli's tunic. River whispered a few words to Eli and she pulled her sword out and went to take a sip from the Fountain. She cupped her hands in the water and drank the water. She gagged and fell backwards.

I pulled out my gun and shot Eli's arm. She looked down at her arm. It was healing already, though it was leaving a strange red mark.

She turned and jumped off the tree down to the world below. I waited until I heard a scream of pain. I smiled and called on Moonwolf. He stalked over to us.

"Yes?" He drawled out in his impossibly deep voice.

"Help me up." He complied and let me lean on him. I stumbled over to the Fountain and cupped my hands in. I brought them up to my mouth and took a sip. Uggh. That tastes awful!

"Drink." I ordered Moonwolf. "I don't want you getting hurt."

"Glad to know you care." He replied and dipped his head towards the Fountain. He shook in disgust a little while later.

I chuckled and cupped my hands in again, bringing some over to Sonic. I dumped it in her mouth and she sat up coughing.

"W-what the hell was that for?"

"Thank me later. We need to get out of here."

"Why?" Sonic asked. "It's nice up here. We could make our home here."

A sword appeared at my neck. "I'm why."
