To Kill A Queen

New Recruits Part One

She nodded over to a bush where a hawk burst out. The hawk flew up to where the moon shone and dived down. When the hawk had almost reached the ground, it transformed into a young blonde girl.

"Correction. We're robbing you." She grabbed me by the wrist and put her sword around my neck.

"You can try." I slurred. "I don't think I'm going to die though."

The girl pressed the knife harder against my throat and yelled out. "Give us all of your valuables! Now, or this girl dies!"

Everyone looked over at who this girl and pixie had, and bust out laughing. I smiled as the girl with the sword started to frown.

"What's wrong with them? Why aren't they trying to save her?"

The pixie had a weird look on her face. "Jean, give me my sword."

Jean compiled, handing the pixie a sword as she changed into a normal human, if humans had fiery wings on their backs. She took the sword and sliced it across my stomach. I gasped in pain, but the three of us looked as the wound closed on its own.

"Hey! This was a new tunic!" I yelled at the fire girl.

"Blair. What was that supposed to do?" Jean asked.

"Take your sword away Jean. We picked the wrong girl, she's immortal."

"How can you tell? You just cut her stomach."

"Anyone normal would have bent down to stop the blood flow. Even though she's drunk," Blair wrinkled her nose. "She knew she was going to heal."

Jean took away the sword. "Hey girlie, what's your name?"

I stuck out my hand. "Eli." 

Jean shook my hand. "Jean." 

She pointed to the human pixie. "Blair."

I gestured to everyone still on the floor. They were all sitting up, even Red who was clutching her head in her hands and looking at the ground like she was about to kill it.

"Red, Erin, Bronze, Pandora, Naomi, and Diana. Want to join our group? We're going to storm the Feary Queen's castle!"

June and Brianna looked at each other and shrugged. "Sure. We've got nothing else to do."

I noticed it was strangely warm out and looked at Diana.

"Why is it warm out here?"

Diana shrugged. "I was cold."

"Well," Erin cut in. "Since we're all awake, we might as well get going."

Everyone nodded.

"I know part of the way to the Feary Queen." Blair spoke out. "I can take you there."

Pandora smiled. "Then lead the way pixie!" 

Blair glared at Pandora and I smiled. We packed up all of our stuff and set out
