My stupid alarm goes off and I'm seriously debating if throwing my phone across the room would be a good idea. I sigh when my internal debate ends with the fact that I need my phone. I reach over and hit the stop button. I look at Ming's empty side and feel lonely.
It's been three days and I think I might just die from heartbreak. Over the last four years Ming has left me a total of four times. Once a year for the engineering trip. Each time I nearly had a mental breakdown.
It's not that I need him to function, it's just that I need him here to function. I'm quite independent I just need to be able to touch whenever I want to and fall asleep with him. That's not at all unreasonable.
I get out of bed, shower, and get dressed for work. Right now it's not the best atmosphere with Khun Hanwutinanon's incident the other day. She's holding a big time grudge and I think she's still mad. She tried to press charges against Ming's mother for assault. I say tried because when the police came none other than Kit's brother came and handled the situation. By the time he was done she was the one who would be brought up on charges. She was so frustrated that she gave up. Now she's making life miserable for me at work.
I walk down to the kitchen where daddy is sitting. Breakfast is laid out and he's reading the morning paper. He's one of the few people that I know who still likes actually reading a newspaper instead of just going online.
"Morning daddy." I say and force a smile.
"Morning Yo. Did you sleep at all?" He asks.
"Yes, I got a few hours." I tell him.
"Son, it's almost unhealthy the way you become when he's away. He's full time now what are you going to do when this starts happening more frequently?" He questions.
My head snaps up and my eyes go wide. More frequently? What did he say? That's not an option here.
"Did that not occur to you son?" He asks thoughtfully.
I shake my head no and my eyes start to sting. I blink furiously because I don't want to cry at breakfast.
"Aw I didn't mean to upset you. Daddy's sorry." He says as he pulls me into a hug.
"You'll be fine son. Everything will work out." He soothes.
Well breakfast was a bust after that. I couldn't make myself eat so I just went to work. My dad looks frustrated and I can't blame him.
As soon as I walk into the office Khun Suthiluck calls me into his office. I wonder what he could want. I may be mopey but it's not affecting my job. I walk in and look at him with a confused expression.
"Pull the door shut please and have a seat." He instructs.
I shut the door then walk to the seat that is in front of his desk. I slowly sit never breaking eye contact. When I finally sit down he pushes papers in front of me.
"Sorry nong, this just isn't going to work." He starts.
Is he firing me? I haven't done anything wrong. Sure my mother-in-law assaulted a coworker but that wasn't me. I can't believe this is happening. I look up at with a panicked expression.
A wide smile breaks across his face.
"What are you thinking nong?" He asks, eyes twinkling.
"Are you firing me?" I ask.
"What? No. I mean this sulking. This isn't helping anyone. Also this tension with Khun Hanwutinanon. This is your approved leave form. Go be with your husband until he's done." He says.
