I go into work not looking forward to what we were going to have to do but having a better attitude thanks to the best husband ever.
When I walk in it is not the scene I was expecting. I thought that we would be pulling all of the samples and manually checking their genetic makeup but that is not what is happening. When I walk in there are people here collecting all of our samples, collecting our data, computers, all of the vault sign in logs as well as the surveillance feed. I didn't even know we had a camera there. Apparently we had more than one. It makes sense I just never realized it. I guess I was either hyper focused or really inattentive.
My boss walking past me gets my attention. He looks dead tired. I wonder if he's gotten any sleep since this thing happened. Now that I look at him he's wearing the same clothes as yesterday. Did he even go home?
"Khun Suthiluck what's going on?" I ask.
"Well after your discovery I reported to the director who reported to the CDC and police. This is a crime and the appropriate people needed to be notified." He explains.
"So what are we supposed to do for now?" I ask.
"For now we sit here and let them take our things and answer any and all questions that they have." He tells me.
I can tell that he is annoyed. I am too. I understand the competition between drug companies but not to the extent of sabotage. This is just beyond my understanding. This affects people's lives. I just don't understand why money always comes first.
I sit at my desk and let Ming know what's going on. He's busy but makes time to send me funny and encouraging stickers. I seriously have the best husband. I take a moment to think about what he went through yesterday just to make me happy. It makes me angry that his surprised was ruined.
Speaking of ruined surprises. I turn to Hiro and tell him about what Ming did yesterday along with the anonymous text that I got. He looks at me then asks for my phone while holding out his hand. I place my phone in his hand and he starts playing around with it. I just sit and watch him. Soon he pulls out a chord and attaches it to his laptop.
In my mind I think "well he is Japanese I bet he knows what he's doing" but really I should have been thinking "well he was a hacker I bet he knows what he's doing". Every now and then he talks about life before he met his wife and the things that he did. If half of it is true he was definitely something.
I watch as he plays around for better part of an hour. Every now and then he snickers or shakes his head.
"You shouldn't look up things like this." He whispers out as he taps on the keyboard.
Things like what? Everything I look up is totally acceptable. I look over his shoulder and he moves to block me. He snickers as he plays.
"Are you close? Do you think we'll find out who it was?" I ask.
"Oh I found that after the first five minutes. I've been setting up a trap. The next time they make contact they'll get quite a surprise." He says, his laugh now sounding more evil villain-like.
"Then who is it?" I ask.
"Who do you think it is? I'll give you a hint: of all the crazy women in your life who could get your phone number?" He asks.
"Khun Hanwutinanon? Oh that bitch! Where is she?!" I demand as I look around.
I get up and walk around the office looking for the lady whose hair I'm going to rip out. We don't have that large of an office area so when I circle it for a third time I get the feeling that she's not here. I head to find Pii. I see him talking to my uncle and I walk over.
