Our next big step (Mingkwan)

I can't believe that P'Forth is offering us this apartment.  It's seriously impressive.  P'Forth has another building for employees.  It's within walking distance of the company.  It's something he offers his entry level employees either as part of their contract package or at a reduced rate because rent can be quite high here.

Lately some of those employees have married and started families so Pii decided to make another building with family units.  There are also management apartments here.  The top five floors are single units for higher positioned individuals.  One can understand my confusion at being offered one of those apartments over a family unit or even an entry level unit.

Even though I'm quite positive our parents would buy us a house or apartment I feel this great sense of accomplishment providing this for Yo and me. Besides if I let our parents buy we would end up like P'Kit and P'Forth living across the street from our parents who always have a key.

No thank you.

"I wish we had Champaign or wine to celebrate.  This is huge." He walks over and wraps his arms around me.

"Look at my sexy breadwinner. I feel less worried about not having a job lined up." He tells me.

"Were you worried babe?  Don't pressure yourself.  You know you don't have to work so take your time and find the job you want.  OK." I tell him pulling him closer and kissing his forehead.

"Too bad this isn't already ours.  We could christen it." He says raising his eyebrows and twitching the corner of his mouth into a smile.

"You're so bad." I say gruffly as I devour his mouth.

There's a knock on the door and we pull apart.  I think I just might kill someone today.  Most likely the guy that's on the other side of that door.  Yo runs his hands over himself smoothing out his clothes then smiles at me.  I stride over and pull the door open.

The apartment manager is there with an envelope.  He walks in with a smile and motions to the table. Yo and I shrug at each other then follow him to the table.  We all sit and we watch as he pulls out papers and pens.

"Misters Daichapanya." He says addressing both of us.

"This is the contract for this unit.  The term of lease is equivalent to your work contract, therefore if your contract is for six months the lease is for six months.  Likewise if the contract is for six years the lease is for six years.  Unlike other leases if you decide to leave the apartment there is no penalty.  However once you leave that terminates the lease contract and you will no longer have rights to the apartment.  Do you understand so far?" He asks and waits.

"Yes." We both say.

"Mr. Mingkwan Daichapanya as the employee the lease is primarily under your name with Mr. Wayo Daichapanya as the co-lease.  I see that your contract term is for five years, congratulations.  Therefore the apartment lease is for five years.  If you could both initial here saying that I've explained this to you." He points and we initial.

"Great.  Your rent is considered as part of your package so it is already paid for.  Be aware that if you terminate your lease early you will not be reimbursed the apartment funds.  If you understand, please initial here." He says pointing to the line next the blurb he just explained.

"Just a few more things.  Initial here, here, and here.  Then I need your signatures here and here." He says pointing at random spots on the contract.

"Alright, last piece of business.  Khun Forth has given you the next two days off to move in and he has provided this for you to celebrate." He holds up a bottle of wine and two glass flutes.
