He Doesn't Need To Know

I arrive at school, with 6 minutes to spare. This is perfect really, because then I can go to my locker, and get to class without causing too big of a commotion. With this in mind, I exit my car, and head into the two big double doors and begin the long and torturous school day.

I shove my stuff in my locker, and slam the door. I feel someone's eyes on me, but I ignore them. As I walk towards my first hour, someone slings their arm around my shoulder, and I look up questioningly only to be met with Cameron's mocking gaze.  "Hey, didn't see you come in this mornin' trying to hide from me?" He asked, with a hint of amusement laced into his voice.

"Nah, not you, but other people, I'm not quite ready to face yet," I say, knowing that I can never hide anything from him. Cameron nods his head in understanding, and we come to a stop at my first hour. Cameron has Biology first, while I have Photography, so I was curious as to why he was still standing there. Noticing the situation, he leans down and squeezes me in a hug, then leaves to go to his class so he isn't late. After he is gone, I enter the classroom, and head to the back table. As I near the back, I take a look around to see if Taylor showed up, since I was lucky and didn't see him this morning. But that doesn't mean he ditched, he could just be already here. After doing a thorough check, I saw in fact, he wasn't here, and I sighed internally and let myself relax.

I finally got to my seat, set my stuff down, slipped my headphones in, cranked the volume up, and put my head down. Everyone in this school hates me (except for Cameron) so they let me do whatever. After about an hour had passed, I felt someone watching me again. This time, I knew it wasn't Cameron since he didn't share this class, so I decided to ignore it. Another 5 minutes pass, before I begin to grow annoyed. I give it another minute and pretend I still don't notice, before secretly glancing around the room to see that at some point in time Taylor had snuck into class, and was staring at me. I grew even more annoyed, remembering what once happened between us. I narrowed my eyes, and glared at him, and then laid my head back down like I didn't care about a single thing, but secretly just the sight of him, sent my heart overboard, and I hated that.

I stayed with my head down and my music in for the rest of first hour, and when the bell rang, I met Cameron in the hallway, and we walked to our shared second hour: Art. I was always good at all things art, while Cameron was more brains, and not very artistic. So, I guess you can say we balance each other out.

I took a seat next to Cameron, and turned towards my easel, sighing in dis-contempt at my piece. We are supposed to be painting what our perspectives were on Realism. I chose A Burial At Ornans, it is a really hard piece to replicate and I am beginning to regret my decision even more. Sensing my discomfort, Cameron comes up behind me and gives me a hug. "Hey, that looks so good, so stop worrying! Look at mine! Picasso? More like Problemos," he whispered giving my shoulder a squeeze before returning to his piece. I walked over, and took a look and stiffled a laugh, which he still heard, turning around with amusement in his eyes. "Oh? This is funny huh?" He asks, sweeping his hands wide and motioning towards his picture, "Don't worry sweetheart, a thing like that doesn't go without a little revenge," he finishes giving me a wink and turns around getting back to work. I do the same, seeing as I am falling behind.

The next couple classes I didn't have with Cameron, nor did I have any with Taylor, so I just did the same thing I did during first hour, and before I knew it, lunch had arrived.
