(Still in Cameron's POV)

We arrived around 6:30, and it's now 8:45 and I am beginning to grow even more nervous. I already filled out all of the paperwork, and did the required interviews they needed me to do. Her mom still hasn't shown yet, and she isn't answering either which is starting to freak me out.

I wait for about another 10 minutes, then I decide to go and ask some questions. I approach the nurses station, and see the doctor who is in charge of taking care of her standing there, looking over her chart with the nurses. When he sees me standing there, he sets the chart down, and motions for me to follow him. "Come with me son, I'm going to take you to the cafeteria and then I'll take you to her room. In the mean time, since her mother seems not to be here, I will be passing legal obligations to you," he says looking at me sternly.

I look at him confused, before asking, "Um, what do you mean?"

He looks at me and chuckles, then hands me a clipboard, "You will need to sign this, son. This is for you to have the say in her medical treatment. Now if you'll excuse me, I must tend to another patient," and with that the doctor left. I looked up, and noticed that I was outside Mel's room, so quietly went inside, and walked closer to her bed, until I was right next to it holding her hand. She was still asleep, and she looked so peaceful. I didn't want to wake her, so I took a seat next to the bed, so I could keep a close eye on her, and protect her from any harm. After about an hour, I ended up drifting off to sleep. That night, I dreamed of running off with her and leaving all of our problems behind, and being extremely happy for once. After all, we both deserve happiness.
