I talked to Richie over the phone for the first time. I would prefer to see him in person but under these circumstances it's almost impossible. We talked for hours until that knock on the door Cut is off and the fake smiles and laughs began.
"Oh my god, yes totally. I would 100% date him." Sally said as she blew on her fingernails to dry the wet nail polish.
"What about the losers? Which one would you date?" I asked without thinking twice.
They both looked at each other before bursting out in laughter, to the point were tears threatened to spill from their eyes.
"That was a good one." Greta said as she wiped her eyes gently.
"No I'm serious." I said quietly as I looked down at my hand that waited patiently.
"We would never date any of those fucktards." Sally said, "it's like asking if you would date a dog."
Greta nodded her head as she continued to paint my fingernails a very pleasing shade of black, so dark you don't even need a second coat.
"But if you have to, who would you choose?." I pressured.
Greta shrugged her shoulders, "Beverly's a girl and a slut, one of them is Jeweish and looks like a shrimp, the other one looks like he's literally five years old and has a fucking Fanny pack for god's sake, there's the one with the the stutter than can't even go a sentence without tripping over his own words, there's the fat one that they've adopted, the poor kid that lives on the farm that all of a sudden became a new member of the losers' club, and then that four eyed freak with the buck teeth." She chuckled, "so um... no one."
"What if they're not that bad?" I asked very quietly.
"Wait What?" Sally asked.
I licked my lips, "why do we hate them so much? Haven't you guys ever stopped and thought why we do what we do to them?"
"Um no..." Sally asked as she stared at me like I was an alien from another demension.
"are feeling okay?" Greta asked as she tilted her head to the side, "because the things that are coming out of your mouth are really stupid." She said.
I looked away as I nodded my head, "Yeah... I'm fine." I said.
"I heard that Beeverly already did the stuttering kid." Greta said as she finished painting my nails and closed the nail polish bottle.
"No way." I sighed as I shook my head side to side, "who started that rumor?"
"Me." Greta giggled, "I have an idea." Greta started as she blew on her wet nails, "I overheard those Losers talking about going to the quarry tomorrow, we can give them a small surprise." She said with a small smile.
"Or a heart attack." Sally giggled.
I cleared my throat, "y-you know, I don't think that's a good idea. I think they need a break I mean... I feel bad for them."
"Seriously, What has gotten into you?" Greta asked annoyed.
"You're not dating one of them, are you?" Sally joked.
Greta shoved her, "Don't say shit like that." She warned.
"Nothings wrong with me, I just think they should breath once in a while."
"You're no fun anymore." Greta said as she tilted her head to the side, "what happened?"
I looked away as I closed my eyes for a second, "Fuck it. Let's do it then." I said as I threw my hands in the air.
"That's our girl." Greta cheered as a wide smile appeared on her lips.
I smiled slight as I looked away again and everything seemed to be completely muted out from my ears. I couldn't hear a single word.
I need a plan. A plan on top of the plan. One more strike and I'm seen as the bully again. I just need a distraction or a way to warn Richie.
I can't go to the phone right now, They'll be suspicious.
What the fuck am I going to do?
