You held your breath as you stared down at the busy streets beneath your feet. Your heart rate picking up as adrenaline filled your body. The cold breeze almost knocking you off your feet. At 32 storeys up, the wind tends to get quite strong. You shivered. Fear settling in your bones. Your mind filled with flashbacks of memories and people you will miss.
"(Y/N)?" A voice asked. You turned around to see Steve leaning against the window. "What are you doing out here? Come back inside!" He insisted.
"No, Steve. Please just leave me alone." You begged. Tears rolled down you cheeks as your feet inched closer to the edge. Steve froze.
"(Y/N)!" His voice was desperate as his brain finally caught on to what was happening.
"Steve. What's going on? FRIDAY said that (Y/N)'s heart rate had spiked." Tony rushed as he sprinted into the room. Followed closely by the team.
"She-she's out there, on the ledge and she won't come back in. Something's not right. I-I think she's going to..." Steve trailed off, the words getting caught in his throat.
"No!" Wanda shouted as she pushed through to peer out the window. "(Y/N)! (Y/N), please-please come back inside."
"I'm sorry, Wanda. I-I can't," you muttered, your eyes gazing at her worried expression. You felt guilty almost. You are going to leave her with so much pain when you're gone. And it wasn't fair.
"Come on (Y/N)." It was Sam's turn to speak. "Just come back inside and talk to us."
"We can figure this out." Clint tried. You shook your head.
"You're not alone in this (Y/N)." Bruce prompted.
Tony silently reached for the button that activated his suit. When nothing came he turned to look at you.
"Its not going to work, Tony." You stated.
"(Y/N), what did you do?" He questioned, he sounded worried. His usual playful attitude replaced with fear and sadness.
"You're not going to save me. Not this time."
Steve stepped through the window. One hand holding the pane the other stretched out toward you. "(Y/N), jus-just take my hand. Please. What-whatevers wrong, we can fix it."
"You can't fix it, Cap. I've tried. I-I see the way you all look at me. Like I'm fragile. Like I'm broken... And you're right. I-I am. It's hard for me to talk about these things." You sighed. "I get so lost in my own head, so caught up in hating myself, that it's hard to function sometimes. It's hard to live."
