"Mumma!" April smiled to herself as she shuffled along the corridor, clutching four bottles in her hands. The familiar chirp sounded multiple times a day; whenever Mikey felt he deserved some attention. Her third child had been blabbering incessantly, ever since he'd blurted his first word two months ago.
Raph was also close to uttering his first word, having murmured several syllables of words but not yet able to put them together.

Turning towards the small dinning room, April beamed as she faced the four high chairs, handing out the bottles to each of the awaiting boys. Then been long overdue a nap, thanks to Casey's insistence in entertaining them before bed. This had left the already rumbustious boys stirring in their cots, protesting in constant wails as they attempted to break free.

She took a seat next to Leo's high chair, assisting him with his bottle, watching as her other sons rushed to finish their's.
Raph, having chugged his down in one go, began chattering once more, struggling to pronounce certain letters.
"Eeeee...ooo." He strained, staring intently at his smallest brother, who remained unfazed, staring at the wall.
"What was that Raphael?" April encouraged, grinning widely as the eldest tried once again.

"Eeeeoo....'eo!" He giggled at the sound of his own voice, repeated his brother's name multiple times over. April clapped in applause, chuckling as Donnie and Mikey did the same.
It was a beautiful scene, one that lasted only a few seconds before Raph decided it was the appropriate time to slap Leo's face, obviously disgruntled by the fact the youngest hadn't joined in the praise.
Leo whimpered slightly, looking to his mother for support, only to find that she was already occupied seeding to his brother. Unable to comprehend why his mother would ignore his discomfort, Leo did the one thing he knew best. He cried. This, however, may not have been the best was to approach the situation, as Leo found himself alone in his cot minutes later, having been dumped there by April who claimed to have had enough of his selfishness.
He sat on the mattress, clutching the bars.
Shadow crept around the walls of the room, fuelling the fear that bubbled in his stomach.

Sinking to the corner of the cot, he reached for the closest source of comfort, which turned out to be a stuffed bunny. Hugging it close to his scarred chest, Leo stuffed his tear stained face into the rabbits fluff, crying himself to sleep.
