Mysterypaw

Mysterypaw watched him fall asleep. The poppy seeds worked quickly. Cloudyrain lay still, but his stirring told her he was just asleep.

She then turned to Graystar, the leader's face looked more worried then ever. "Are you okay?" she asked.

"Huh? Oh, I'm fine..." Graystar barked. She was worried by the leader's answer. 

"You sure?" she protested.

She saw Redfang glare at her. The leader answered her own question though. "I think we should head back to camp. We're in danger out here..."

Mysterypaw nodded, "Should we wake them?" she asked the medicine dog.

"Yes, they'll have enough strength for going to the camp," her old mentor's replied. "Mysterypaw you let this ShadowClan warrior lean on your shoulder. Graystar let Mosspelt lay on your shoulder. I'll keep us on a steady path," she told them.

"I'll wake Cl- I mean warrior get up..." she barked looking at her paws. Then she turned towards the handsome warrior. Mysterypaw nudged him.

His eyes slid open. Cloudyrain looked happy to see the apprentice. "Hey M-" Mysterypaw cut him off.

"Hey warrior..." she pointed her nose to Redfang and Graystar. She didn't want either of them being in her love life. "Are you up for walking?" she asked.

The warrior sighed. "I don't think I have much of a chose," Cloudyrain murmured.

He lifted his strong body up and began to stretch. Mysterypaw made sure Graystar and Redfang hadn't seen her lick his ear. They walked along quietly until she realized he was limping.

"Lean on my shoulder," she ordered. As close as he was to object, he obeyed.

They got to camp quickly and quietly. She sat breathless, it had been hard for her to carry the warrior. The route Redfang led them through wasn't bumpy. They hadn't ran into any warriors along the way.

"Can I let him sleep in my nest, Graystar?" Mysterypaw asked and looked to her paws. The leader seemed scary every since Mysterypaw scolded her like she was her pup.

Graystar looked at her. Then turned her head away. "If you want him to..." the leader said exhaustedly.

Mysterypaw then turned away and walked toward Cloudyrain. She beckoned him with her tail. Leading him into her nest, he sat and dozed. She had never seen him in so much pain. Since no one was going to see her, she curled around the injured warrior.

"Are you okay?" she asked him.

Cloudyrain gazed at her, his eyes showed his love. "I am now...."

Mysterypaw nodded and began to lift herself up. "Wh-what are you doing?" Cloudyrain asked.

"Do you want to eat?" her eyes were full of amusement.

She backed her way out of the den. She turned around to see Redfang. Uh-oh... she thought. Thankfully the medicine dog took no notice to her. Instead of going to the pile, she walked out of the camp and towards the spot where no fighting was happening.

It would be nice to bite into a juicy squirrel right now! her thought made her even hungrier. A mouse sprinted out, almost like it was running from something. It wasn't as good as she wanted, but it would help her hunger.

A dog popped out a heartbeat after she killed the mouse easily. She backed away, the mouse clenched tightly on her jaws. "What are you doing?" the dog asked. The warrior had battle scars all over his body.

"M-me?" she asked looking around.

"No that dog over there," he joked.

She looked crazily at him. What right did he have to yell at me in my territory? she asked herself. "Hunting in my territory," she growled.

"Oh, I'm sorry! You don't recognize me!" the warrior grumbled. "It's me, Redtail."

"Wish it wasn't!" she mumbled to herself. "Sorry I needed food for the injured warriors..."

Redtail glared at her. "So was I! Want to hunt together?"

How was she supposed to say no to a warrior? "Sure...."

She walked beside Redtail awkwardly. He kept trying to get closer to her. Every time he tried, she walked further away from him. "I was thinking...." the warrior began. "You know about us."

Mysterypaw froze. Had Graystar found out about me and Cloudyrain? Did the leader not like her lover? she asked herself.

He continued. "We could be mates in the future..."
