Graystar

Graystar stood looking at her mate. She wished it would have happened to her instead of him. She could at least use one of her lives. Graystar had five lives left.

Mosspelt lay still... She couldn't even tell if he was still alive. The leader missed her brushing pelt with him and having their time alone in her den.

The sound of fighting began to fade. She then lifted her body and sprinted out of the tunnel entrance. She saw warriors coming to her camp. They smelled of ThunderClan, so she didn't worry.

She noticed Bunnyclaw with her apprentice and Highbark. "Go see Redfang, she'll fix you up..." she ordered.

Mysterypaw was still not in sight. She said she'd be back before the battle stopped. Her daughter could have ran into trouble!

Graystar began to shake. Mysterypaw had been one of here only loved ones. She was running out of loved ones. They kept dying on her.

"Mysterypaw!!!" she called.

A heartbeat later Mysterypaw appeared out of some bushes. The surprising thing was, her daughter was with Redtail. Last time they spoke she wanted to rip his fur off.

"Oh thank StarClan you guys are okay!" she howled. After saying there hellos she noticed a large pile of prey.

"Yeah, I thought that it was good if we fed all warriors and wait until the fight was over..." Redtail told her.

"That was a smart thing you chose to do," she praised.

She saw in the corner of her eye Mysterypaw. Her daughter was looking at him in disbelief. It was like he took something from her.

"Well, we have a hungry Clan to feed... So let's get this food in the camp!" she nudged them both in.

When she entered she saw injured warriors at all ends. One corner she saw severely injured warriors being treated by Redfang. Another group looked almost as bad, but luckily didn't have as many scratches. But by all of the injured warriors there was an herb and prey smell.

Graystar felt starved. "Mysterypaw!" she called to her daughter. The apprentice came to her ready to listen. "Do you want to share a piece of fresh kill. Once everyone else is fed of coarse!"

She dug her teeth into some prey and passed it to the warriors and almost-elder dogs. When they all had something to eat she rushed towards Mysterypaw.

The apprentice's eyes were saddened, "There's no more prey...."

"Let's go catch some then!" she told her apprentice, trying to stay positive. "Just you and me. As apprentice and mentor."

"And me!" a squeaky-high voice called from behind them.

Graystar turned to see Highbark and Bunnyclaw. She began to wonder why she hadn't recognized the warrior's high bark. It was how she got her name. Even full grown she still had a voice of a pup.

"Why don't you guys rest?" she asked. She was trying not to make it sound like an order.

Highbark answered, "Oh... We got enough rest and we'll soon get to much rest!"

Mysterypaw and Graystar stared at each other. They borh knew that they were right. "Okay..." the leader mumbled.

After their good hunt they could have a full pile and stomach. She settled beside Mysterypaw. "I was thinking how well you fought today... We could have you a warrior after I go over some stuff with you."

"Let's do it! Right after I eat!" the apprentice wiggled with excitement.

"Very well..." she answered.

As soon as they were done eating the apprentice sprinted our of camp. Of coarse she had to follow her. She chased after her until they got to the Hawk Rock. It was named that because of a hawk coming and sitting on the rock every full moon morning.

"We need to talk..." Graystar began.

"About?" her daughter sounded worried and confused.

She paused for a second gathering her words. "The warrior code... I want to make sure you don't break it." her apprentice nodded. "First I want to talk about ShadowClan..."

She saw her apprentice freeze.

She ignored what she had just saw. "Since were allies and we are taking care of their warrior, I just don't want you to get any ideas." Graystar paused. "If you try to mate or meet with a warrior from a different Clan you will be breaking the warrior code.. and my heart. If you do it you'll be kicked out of my Clan."
