Mysterypaw

Mysterypaw ate with Bearpup at her side. The pup shown courage when he stood up to Cloudyrain. Graystar ate alone not to far off. The pup had a mouse and was scarfing it down alone.

"Go share with your sisters," she suggested.

He lofted his head and licked his snout. "Okay..." he stopped. "Can we walk together again tomorrow?"

Mysterypaw smiled sweetly. "Maybe..." she said and the pup raced off.

She lifted her prey and padded to her mentor. "Graystar..." the apprentice began. "Is Mosspelt going to be okay?"

Graystar looked up. "He can walk again, but StarClan knows if we're going to keep him here for awhile..." Sorrow was in the leader's eyes.

"He'll live as long as StarClan knows you love him to much now." she comforted.

"He's older than me!" the leader howled. "He... He was an apprentice moons before I was born. A warrior before I could see!"

The leader gulped up more food before continuing. "I agree with what you said earlier. Snowpaw and Lionpaw deserve to be warriors."

Her eyes brightened. "What's gonna be their names?"

Graystar met her eyes. "StarClan knows...."

Later in the day Graystar called a Clan meeting for the two apprentices. "Lionpaw, Snowpaw step forward," she ordered.

The apprentices stepped forward, confused. The leader continued. "You both have trained well and I think it's time you become warriors."

"Lionpaw, you have trained well and followed the warrior code. Do you think you're ready?" the apprentice nodded. "Then by the power of StarClan I give you the name, Liontail."

Liontail fluffed his fur up, bathing in the new name. "Snowpaw, you've trained well, just like a warrior. Do you agree?" She nodded. "Well then by the power of StarClan you are named, Snowball."

The two touched noses. "Snowball! Liontail! Snowball! Liontail!" the Clan cheered.

After that, the Clan broke up into groups. "Hah!" Snowball laughed at her. "You got to go to the gathering, but we are warriors!" Graystar was listening.

"Actually..." the leader began. "Mysterypaw thought you two deserved to become warriors. Then she said that you guys were fighting as well as Bunnyclaw!"

The warriors flinched. They both knew it was no lie. Snowball turned with Liontail following and stalked away.

Late that night when every single dog was asleep, Mysterypaw snuck out. She did it well for not doing it in awhile. She head out of the tunnel exit and went straight to ShadowClan.

When she got there she saw Cloudyrain waiting for her. She ran to him. She missed his scent and his comfort around her. "Cloudyrain..." she whispered.

He lifted his head from her shoulder. "What?"

"I missed you! I miss you every day I go without seeing you!" she said quietly, not wanting to attract any night patrols to them.

"Yeah... Me too." he stated. "But why'd you have pups without me?"

Mysterypaw gave him a dead stare. "I didn't! I'm not even a warrior yet!"

He shrugged. "I guess I should have considered that..." he thought regretfully.

"You've shown me everything of ShadowClan. Now it's my turn." she turned and walked. The earth pounding, told her that he was following.

She led him to Magic Falls. "This is Magic Falls," she announced.

"Yep. I've seen it before, but I have a question..." the warrior said. "What makes it so magical?"

She smiled. "I asked the same thing... But it's warm in leaf-bare and cold in green-leaf."

Cloudyrain's eyes widened. "Amazing!"

She took him back to the border. "I need to tell you something..." she began. "When me and you separated Redtail asked me to be his mate."

He was taken aback by her words. He was stunned. "What did you say?" he asked in a low growl.

"Well I told him it couldn't happen since I was an apprentice. Then we started hanging out-" she was cut off.

Cloudyrain's eyes shone fury and pain. "You said yes, didn't you?"

"No!" she snapped. "That is not why I'm telling you this!" she growled. "He used me to be with Purplefur. Have you been doing that to make yourself blend in?"
