Chapter 21

Mysterypaw

Mysterypaw walked uneasily to the RiverClan leader. Purplefur by her side and Tinyear took the other side. While Flameheart took the rear and Poppyclaw leading them towards the rival Clan leader.

Poppyclaw gave her a glare when they got to the RiverClan leader. Immediately, she knew what it meant. She had to speak to the leader. The leader stared, wanting an explanation.

"What's this?" the leader asked. "Purplefur, have you brought these as prisoners?"

Shock ran through the Tinyear, she could tell the senior warrior wanted to make him fresh kill. Purplefur looked up, ashamed for what she had done.

The rival warrior gulped in before speaking. "N-no..." she choked out. "I'm sorry. Please forgive me!"

RiverClan's leader looked puzzled. Then searched the ThunderClan warriors faces. All but Mysterpaw's shown strength. Mysterypaw on the other hand shook like a pup in leaf-bare.

Still puzzled, the leader comamded, "Explain ThunderClan warriors. You show no sign of weakness, explain why you have brought our warrior to our camp."

Mysterypaw stared at her Clan mates. They shown no sign in explaining for her. When she felt a nudge from behind her, she knew she had to speak.

"I saw Purplefur in our territory," she explained confidently. "She was with our warrior, Redtail... And they were sharing tounges!" she spat angry as soon as she mentioned his name.

The RiverClan leader looked disappointed at his warrior. "I never ever have seen you!" he snapped at her. "How do I know you weren't a lying rouge before you came here?" he questioned, defending  his warrior.

"Oh do trust me," she told him. "I've been nothing but loyal to my Clan since I was born there." Even though she knew that wasn't true, she had to defend herself.

He held his gaze for a few moments before answering. "Do forgive me... My name is Yellowstar. Who might you be?"

She got excited by his politeness. "My name is Mysterypaw! And I am smart enough to know what else you want to know," she started. "My mother is Dawntail and my father is Mosspelt. My brother is Sunpaw and I had two sisters before they died, Cloudpaw and Birdpaw."

"Very well... Continue telling what happened, young warrior," Yellowstar commanded.

She told him what she saw and how they got Graystar. Although she left out her old love and new hate with Redtail, he seemed glad to have the information.

When she was done explaining about what happened, he told Purplefur that he'd deal with her later. And added, "Thank you, Mysterypaw. I will remember this and I'll mention it in tonight gathering."

Gathering? she asked. Oh no! We have to get home quick! Graystar promised I'd get to go!
