>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>The picture on the side is Jerod
I woke up the next morning and showered, washing off the makeup and hairspray that were left from the night before. I knew Carissa was still asleep and would be for a while. Seeing her, I was thankful that I had decided to stop drinking half way through one. Maybe I sounded old, but it just wasn't worth it to me to be that sick. I stepped out of the shower and put on a pair of shorts and a t-shirt. I was really hoping that Jerod would call me. I wanted to see him again today.
I went downstairs, practically skipping the whole way. My mom and dad were at the table, drinking coffee like every other Saturday morning. "Hi honey, did you have a nice time with Carissa last night?" My mom asked. She knew that we were going on a double date, but she didn't know that we were going to a party.
"Yeah, I did. We had a great time. It was a lot of fun." I didn't say anything about Carissa being drunk, I figured they would figure that out on their own.
"Did the young men you two were with behave themselves?" My dad asked in his I'll-shoot-the-man-who-touches-my-daughters tone.
I laughed. "Yes dad, Carissa was with Scott and I met Scott's friend Jerod. We had a great time and everyone behaved.
As if on cue, Carissa came dragging down the stairs. Her hair was in a mess and her makeup was smeared all over her face. He eyes had black circles underneath of them and she looked like death. "Well, well, well. It looks like someone wasn't on their best behavior." My mom remarked, causing everyone to look at her. My mom's attention turned to me. "Alright, spill. Where did you two go?"
I sighed. "We went to a party. Before you freak out, I just want to remind you that I am 18 years old, a legal adult, and that I did not drink." She didn't need to know that I had a little bit to drink. "I also drove home, so no one was in danger." My mom gave my sister a disappointed look, as she flopped into a chair with a cup of coffee. My phone started to vibrate, and I didn't recognize the number. I quickly walked out of the room as my mom started to lecture Carissa about being a good role model to me.
I stepped out onto the porch and answered my phone. "Hello?" I was hoping it would be Jerod.
"Hey, how are you this morning?" Yup, it was him. Hearing his voice brought memories from last night, causing me to smile.
"I'm fine, my sister looks and feels like crap though." I could hear him laughing, I figured Scott was the same way.
"Listen, I was calling to see if you wanted to go out with me tonight. I thought we could go see a movie." I smiled. I would have watched paint dry with him if that's what he asked me to do.
"Yeah, that sounds great." I was trying to control the excitement in my voice so I woudn't sound like an idiot.
"Great, I'll pick you up at 7. See you later, Lily." We said goodbye and hung up. I figured Scott would tell him where we lived. I ran back inside and up to my room. Carissa was laying on my bed again. She looked a little better than before.
"That was Jerod, we're going to a movie tonight." She sat up and smiled, wincing a little at the same time.
"Lily that's amazing, we need to figure out what you're going to wear and how we're doing hair and make up. But first, I'm going to take some more pain relievers and a very long nap." I laughed and crawled into my bed next to my big sister.
By the time we woke up, it was after 5 in the afternoon. Carissa looked and felt better than the mess that had crawled out of my bed earlier this morning. When she was in the shower, I was trying to decide what to wear. What do you wear to the movies with a guy? I had gone on dates, sure, but never with a guy like Jerod. Should I go for sexy or comfy? By the time Carissa got into my room, I had tried on every outfit in my closet. "What is going on in here? Clothes tornado?" She smirked at me, knowing exactly what it was like to be in my position.
"I don't know what to wear! I want him to be interested, but I don't want to give him the wrong impression." I was ready to tear my hair out.
"Well, Lily, here's the great thing about it being summer. You can wear sun dresses and still be casual." Carissa unzipped her duffel and pulled out a yellow halter summer dress with white lace detail on the bottom. "I was going to wear this last night, but changed my mind." My sister could be annoying, but she was a life saver!
I put the dress on and made a mental not to start wearing more sun dresses. I paired it with a pair of brown sandals and Carissa braided my hair. I looked like the perfect mix of cute and casual. "Okay, I'm totally stealing this dress from you." I turned, admiring the dress.
"You better be careful, Jerod's gonna jump on you if you keep looking this hot." We both laughed before her face got serious. "Lily, I trust Jerod and you should too. He's a great guy and would never pressure you to do anything you don't want to. But he's still a guy and you're still too young to get pregnant, so just be careful, okay?" I nodded, glad that my sister was looking out for me.
"Don't worry. I'm still getting to know him, nothing like that will happen for a very very long time. Besides, babies come after marriage." I hugged my sister and ran downstairs, ready to spend the evening with Jerod.
