Tell Me You Love Me-Chapter 8

I found Austin playing football with some guys. There was a bonfire going that I knew would get bigger and better as it got darker. The beach was the perfect place to have a party. There was music and drinking and dancing. Everyone was having a great time. I went over to Austin and tapped him on the shoulder. He turned around and looked me up and down. "My, my, look at you. Our sweet little Lily is wearing a dress." I laughed and rolled my eyes. He looked behind me curiously. "Are Addley and Luke here?"

"No, it's just us. This is my sister's friend's party, I needed a date, but I didn't want to invite too many people because I wasn't technically invited." Austin laughed and put his arm around my shoulders.

"Well you need a date, I got you babe." We both laughed. "Hey, did you see who was over there?" Austin was pointing off towards where Jerod and the girl were.

"No, who?" I asked, like I didn't feel like my insided were crumbling.

"Mr. Callahan! and he had a girl with him, and she is a babe! I would tap that for sure!" I rolled my eyes and gave Austin a playful shove.

"You are such a stupid guy." I said. He shot me a flirty smile and threw his arm around my shoulders again.

"But you love me." I laughed again and we both walked off towards the food. I decided against drinking until I didn't hurt anymore. I figured that would just cause me to hurt more in the morning, and I really didn't need that. Austin and I were sitting at a table when the devil himself came over with the blonde beauty on his arm.

"Well, it's a surprise to see you two here." Jerod and the girl were standing there holding their food. "Mind if we sit down?" He asked us. I was about to say no, but Austin spoke first.

"Of course you two can sit down!" Austin practically yelled. I knew that he only wanted them to sit down so he could check the girl out. Jerod and his bikini princess sat down across from us, giving Austin the view that he wanted. I knew that this was a party Austin wouldn't be forgetting for a while.

"Hi Lily, you look nice tonight." Jerod said to me in a professional tone. I looked up at him, and the hungry look in his eyes made my heart skip a beat. I knew that me being in the dress was doing stuff to him. He was eyeing my legs the same way he had looked at me the night we went to the movies, before everything became terrible. "Oh, where are my manners? Lily and Austin, this is Brianna." The girl smiled at us.

"Hi guys. Are you two students of Jerod's?" She annoyed me. She was trying to be nice, but it annoyed me. Of course, she could have given us a million dollars and it would have annoyed me.

"Yes we are. But we're seniors." Austin said to her in the tone that he used when he was trying to pick up girls. Austin was a ladies man. He had dark hair and lots of muscles, his dark eyes could make anyone forget what they were saying and become lost in his gaze. He looked good, but for me he would always be my friend and the guy that was there for me no matter what.

Brianna put her arms around Jerod and he pulled her in to him. I tried to hold back the tears that were begging to fall. When she was practically sitting on his lap, she looked at us. "So, are you two something of an item?" She pointed back and forth between Austin and me.

Austin laughed. "Nope, we're just friends. Lily is my favorite girl in the whole world." He threw his arms around my waist and acted like he was going to kiss me. "She also happens to be the most delicious." He gave me his flirtiest look.

I looked as serious as I could, trying not to burst out laughing. Austin always did this at random times, whenever he was trying to make me laugh. "And Austin is sexy and happens to be my secret lover!" I kissed his cheek and he laughed and let go of me. I loved having Austin as a friend. He could make me laugh at the times that I only felt like crying.
