"Somersault off my back WHAT?" Ray looked at Mikey, waiting for an explanation or realization to hit him. Whichever came first.

He himself was still busy opening a bag of milk with his teeth, which was the only way to get coffee around here. It was either this or to send someone to one of those vending machines, and everyone knows that they are absolutely retched.

That is, everyone, except for Michael James Way.

Ray does not understand why Mikey has got to be as exceptional as he is. Perhaps he doesn't have to, he just is. That's what scares Ray.

"It's quite simple," Mikey suddenly smirked. As if he thought that the concept of gymnastic maneuvers went right above Ray's head - not literally at the least. "You'll let me climb on your back, and then I roll off and support myself with my arms until I get tired and move back on my feet."

-"I know what it is, Mike-"

"You've never done it!" Mikey decided, practically chanting.

Ray turned his head away from the stirred cup on the counter, so sharply his neck may as well have stuck that way. "I so did. Shut up."

"When was the last time you did?" He asked standoffishly.

-"When I was in high school." Matter-of-fact.

It was Mikey's turn to look at him seriously, considering. His eyes widened all of a sudden, his gaze aligned "You were trying to sneak into the cheerleaders' squad?!"

It made sense, with all of his big hair and his high voice and his smooth, almost hairless legs...

-"For your information" – Ray couldn't believe he had to raise his voice for this one, "I was quite an athlete in my high school days."

Mikey shrugged it off gently.

"So did you?" He asked, bowing his head down in afterthought, expecting a sudden hand-movement in high velocity from Ray's direction, perhaps.

Ray smiled at him, lethargic and mildly amused. "Sure, I did a lot of things. Not things that could end up in going off of other dudes' backs!"

-"Why not?" Mikey asked. It was only that, a simple question. It succeeded in turning him from a complete jackass to an innocuous, vulnerable creature in Ray's eyes – and back again.

"I don't know. Just coz'," He said softly.
