One More Day

Some days, it's hard to get out of bed

Especially when you'll never move again

I stared at the colorless ceiling and hoped

That you would visit, rather than the white coats

Your footsteps approach, followed by a voice

"I know it's been hard, but I've finally made a choice"

Seeing your face and your swollen eyes

If I could be heard, I would probably cry

I don't want to go, please don't make me leave

These words which are lost feel just like make-believe

You squeezed my limp hand. "I'll always be here"

I tried hard to scream but you still couldn't hear

You ended my world with one simple tug

I want to stand up, beg, to give you a hug

I swear I'll be fine, give it one more day...

The words on my mind slowly faded away

The last thing I saw was regret on your face
