Hopelessness

His eyes are locked on a book's blank page

He's a normal boy, and that's all I can say

Brown hair, green eyes, he looks like himself

Dusting off an empty book from a hollow shelf

The floor creaks with his steps and the window is cracked

Nothing is here, no one ever came back

A void within a void; it's as simple as that

No spirits, no secrets, just rotting dead rats

The paint is all dull; it's chipped and it's grey

The memories once cherished have trickled away

Dust covers it all as no stories unfold

No hope remains that the past will be told

And nobody loves him, only wishes he'd fall

How could one love a boy who has no soul at all?
