I'm Not Even Sure

The depths of his mind, a solitary corner

Too deep, too dark, to understand

The cold of his heart, like fingers numb in winter

Too hard, too iced, to comprehend

To love is to lose and to lose is to have loved

But to hate is to shun and to shun is to ignore

If you hate love, you shun loss and love ignorance

But if you love hate, you tend to forget what you're living for

Am I living for love? For money? For fame?

Am I living to make sure the world knows my name?

Do I eat for delight? Do I breathe out of spite?

Do I live for the chance I can once see the light?

But these are just words on a page

And I am just flesh on my bone

I'm living for nothing, nothing at all

So please just leave me alone
