Happy End

An angel passes by

Sparing me a polite smile

Though her wings look so heavy on her back

I wonder if that smile's forced

And don't understand the appeal

Of being lifted up on cloud-like pedestals

Reading that fairy tale

The villain has a change of heart

Regarded as a miracle, all is forgiven

But in reality

The man hung his head

Not in regret, in a rope around his neck

The woman who knew it all

Began to get depressed

More and more, her body lay limp

No enlightenment

Shortening of breath

Lack of body heat, nearing death

This was it

That "Happy End"

We'd searched for since the start

Isn't it what

You had in mind?

All your hard work paid off
