All that you are, is all that I'll ever need. -Ed Sheeran
******Ciara's P.O.V*
I lay the table cloth on the table I set up in the TV lounge. I placed two chairs facing each other. After setting the plates and glasses, I walk into the kitchen and pull out the pasta from the oven. As I am about to carry the dish to the lounge, the sound of the doorbell ringing fills the air. I put the dish back, and move over to the front door. After wiping invisible dust off of my clothes, I sigh and open the door. Kyle gives me a breathtaking smile and moves his eyes over my body.
"Ahem," I clear my throat, and he brings his eyes up to my face again.
"Are you not going to ask me to come in?"
"Come in," I roll my eyes.
"Wow, you set up a table," he comments, walking in the lounge.
"We agreed to have lunch. Of course I set up the table," I reply, " Sit. I'll get the pasta."
"Just pasta?," he frowns and I chuck the nearest item I find at him. He dodged it easily and roared with laughter. I turned around and went into the kitchen, a faint smile on my lips.
Next Scene
Placing the dish down, I take my seat across Kyle. I offer him a small smile and gesture for him to start eating. He returns the smile and serves himself. I start eating immediately but I notice Kyle playing around with his food and continuously glancing from me to his plate, his mouth opening and closing like a fish.
"What?," I say, placing down my fork, the pasta still waiting in my plate to be devoured.
"I just.....God. Ciara. I'm so sorry," he says sighing and moves a hand through his hair.
"Kyle, don't."
"But I have to. I was a jerk to you. I was a jerk for leaving. You never deserved me. You deserved much better. And I didnt deserve you. I saved you that day, from falling into a pit of darkness. And then? I pushed you into it myself. Im so sorry that you had to go through all of it because of me. Please. I beg your forgiveness," he takes my hand in his.
The gesture shocks me and I pull back. Hurt flashes across his face but he quickly recovers. Gradually, I bring my hands forward, and grab his, entwining our fingers. I don't say anything, a silent sign of forgiveness. I cant say words, not yet.
"I didnt go to New York for college," he says.
"Huh?"
"I went to help my mom and Charlie. My stepdad was torturing them. I couldnt stay here and do nothing. I had to go. And I joined a gang to help them too. Because the police wont. I had no choice," he bows his head, his hair falling over his eyes.
"Why didnt you leave afterwards?," I ask, my voice barely a whisper.
"I couldnt. Or they would hurt you. They threatened me Ciara. I couldnt risk you."
"What?"
"They threatened me that they'd hurt you if I left. And....they um...."
"Kyle, what?," I say, the information too hard to process.
"They made me breakup with you," he replies, his eyes meeting mine.
Before I can reply, the front door opens and Mason's voice echoes in the hallway.
"Ciara?"
Kyle pulls his hands from me as soon as Mason enters the room. His eyes study Kyle and the half eaten plates.
"What the hell are you doing here?," he clenches his teeth.
"Mason, its okay. I agreed to listen him out," I stand up.
"After everything he has put you through? I cant see you go through all of that again," Mason says.
"Get the hell out of this house,"he turns his attention back to Kyle.
" I dont follow your orders," Kyle snarls, slowly standing up," Im here to talk to Ciara and when Im finished, I'll see what to do."
"Get out of here. I dont want you here. Nor does she."
"You dont get to decide for her," Kyle takes a threatening step towards Mason.
"Oh? Then who does? You? Last time I checked, you left her to rot in hell," Mason retorts.
Kyle's eyes widen and I can see that Mason hit a nerve.
"You bastard," Kyle says and lans a punch on Mason's face.
Mason retaliates and punches Kyle too. The anger and rage burning in Kyle's eyes is evident as he launches himself onto Mason and they both engage in a fight. Kyle strangles Mason on the floor and lands blow after blow to his face. Mason tries to push him off but the cut on his forehead and cheek, both dripping blood now have him distracted. Despite my various attempts to try and stop them, Kyle's rage has him gone blind and he keeps hitting Mason.
"Kyle STOP IT," I yell at the the top pf my lungs and Kyle's fist stops mid air.
He and Mason, both are panting. Kyle's eyes widen at the horror he has done as realization hits him and he quickly gets off Mason. I hurry over to Mason and help him sit straight.
"Im fine," he coughs out.
So I stand up and take slow steps to Kyle. When I reach inches near his face, I pull my arm back and slap him with full force.
"Get out," I say.
"Ciara, I...."
"I said get out. I dont want to have to do anything with you right now," I say.
He looks at Mason, then at me and walks out, slamming the door shut on his way.
