"If this is a dream, I dont want to wake up. Ever," Kyle says, stirring me awake.
"It isnt. I came last night," I say, my eyes still closed.
"How?," he whispers.
"I never stopped loving you, Kyle," I caress his cheek with my finger. We're laying on the bed, facing each other. He presses his forehead against mine and sighs contentedly.
"God," he plays with my hair and a faint smile appears on his lips.
"Whats that face?," I ask.
"What face?"
"That face."
"Im happy," he smiles and I lean forward to kiss him.
"Mmm, Im hungry," he says, pulling away after a while.
"I'll make breakfast. Go shower, you reek of alcohol," I scrunch my nose up in disgust and jump off the bed.
"You sure you dont want to join me?," he smirks.
"Get out of here," I throw a cushion at him and he dodges it easily, running into the bathroom.
"Jerk," I chuckle.

"These pancakes are so yummy," Kyle says, his mouth full.
"Nah. These are nothing. You should taste Mason's famous pancakes," I reply.
At this his face falls a little and he just nods. I sigh and move over to him, sitting on his alp. I wrap my arms around his neck and kiss him. While we're in the middle of an intense make out session, Kyle's phone starts ringing. He hesitantly pulls apart and checks the caller I.D.
Sighing, he says, "I should get this," and walks out of the living room.
As I'm wiping the kitchen counter Kyle comes back and picks his keys and wallet.
"What is it? Who called?," I ask.
"I need to go right now. Ill be back in a few hours. I promise. I love you," he says, placing a kiss on my forehead and walking out the door before I can even protest.

The doorbell rings and I rush to open the door, hoping it'll be Kyle. But when I see its Theo, my shoulders slump in disappointment.
"Hey," I greet Theo and motion for him to come in.
"Hi. You dont seem happy to see me," he comments.
"Its not that," I say, closing the door. "It's Kyle. He got this call in the morning, the next thing I know, hes out the door in seconds."
"Must be gang work," Theo says, taking a seat on the couch infront of the tv.
"Gang work?," I immediately focus my attention on him.
"The gang's here, Ciara. That is why Kyle's back. They must have called him to inform him about his new job or something."
Why doesn't he just leave? He's going to get seriously hurt."
As if on cue, Kyle stumbles through the front door and stands in the doorway, clutching his right arm, whichis covered in -to my horror- bloody bandages.
"Kyle," I jump from the couch and rush towards him, Theo close behind.
"Dude what the hell," Theo says, offering Kyle an arm for support. Kyle denies it and instead starts walking towards his room.
"I'm fine. Its a flesh wound. I'll be okay in some days," he places a kiss on my forehead on his way.
I look at Theo and mouth, "What the hell?"
"We'll do something," he mouths back.

Kyle's POV*
I wake up to hushed whispers outside my room. I groan and reach across the bed for my phone.
"Shit," I curse as a stinging pain shoots through my arm.
I glance around the room to look for the time. My eyee land on the drawn curtains over the window and the rays of sunlight peeking through it. I carefully grab my phone, so that my wound doesnt cast spells of pain down my arm again.
I notice the date on the screen and realise that I slept for a good amount of time and its now the next day.
I hear whispers outside my room and I focus my attention on them. I tune in and realise that its Ciara and Theo. I tiptoe to the door and try to listen in.
"You saw what happened today. This needs to stop," Ciara says.
"I know, but we cant do anything Ciara."
"I dont know about you but Im not going to sit here and watch him in pain like this. This is torture. Today, it was the arm, who knows God forbid, how long before I look at his lifeless body," Ciara breaks into sobs.
"Hey," Theo says and I think he hugs her. "We'll figure something out. I know we will."
My heart breaks and I sit and think of what my next step will be.
After a few minutes, Ciara enters my room.
"You're awake," she says, sitting next to me.
When I dont reply, she takes my hand in hers and says, "What are you thinking?"
"I'm thinking of quitting," I reply.
"But you said, you cant," she frowns.
"I know there will be consequences," I turn towards her. "But you're right. What's to guarantee that the consequences of staying are not worse. I have proof. We could go to the police. We could reveal their identities and they could be arrested. I may get 2-3 years of jail time, but it'll be worth it."
"You're not going to jail. I'm not letting that happen."
"Ciara, sweetie, I was a member. I still am. And I have committed crimes. No matter how small. I have to serve some jail time."
"Then we'll hire a good lawyer. And I'll stand by you. No matter what," she places a kiss on my lips.
