I used to think that the worst feeling in the world was losing someone you love. But I was wrong. The worst feeling in the world is the moment that you realize you have lost yourself. -Elena Gilbert

"Cuz uptown funk won't give it to you"

"Cuz uptown funk won't give it to you."

I woke up to the sound of Bruno Mars's, Uptown funk. What the hell, I thought?

Still lying on the bed, I grabbed my phone, from where the sound seemed to be coming from. Nina's picture appeared on the caller id. That stupid girl, I smiled.

"Like the new ringtone?," her sweet voice greeted me as I answered the phone.

"What do you want at  7:00 in the morning?," I asked, glancing at the clock.

"Come to school, dumb ass. I have something to tell you."

"You couldn't wait half an hour more to tell me?"

"It's important!"

"Alright, I'll be there in fifteen," I said, shaking my head in disbelief.

I got out of bed and walked towards the closet, searching for something to wear. After spending what seemed like an hour, I threw on a yellow summer dress, with white polka dots on it and pair of white converse. I put my hair in a messy braid, applied some gloss and grabbed my bag.

I walked out of the apartment, only to find that Kyle was leaning against his car, his arms crossed against his chest. I walked towards the car and saw Kyle's pink lips turn into a smirk, as he opened the passenger door for me.

"Good morning Princess! I thought I might be of service."

I rolled my eyes and was about to sit in the car, when Kyle came close to me, his breath fanning my ear.

"By the way, you look beautiful," he whispered. I smiled at his comment and sat in the car.

"Guess what?" Nina threw her books on the cafeteria table and sat beside me.

"What?," I replied, my attention fixed on the slice of pizza infront of me.

"Kyle is holding a party at his house, tonight."

"WHAT?" I nearly choked on my food.

Nina rolled her eyes.

"You're so dramatic. Now hurry up, we have to go shopping."

"Yeah, right. There is no way I am going to that party."

"Oh, come on. It's gonna be fun."

"Nope."

"Pretty please?" Nina made a puppy face. I laughed at her expression.

"Okay."

"YES!! Let's go paarttyy."

I rolled my eyes and followed her.

"I don't think this looks good on me."

I heard Nina say this for a millionth time.

"Ugh, would you come out now? You've already tried on a dozen dresses."

Nina shyly stepped out of the dressing room.

"You look gorgeous," I said, awestruck by her dress.

She was wearing a short, rose red, with a black leather jacket and white heels.

"Really?"

"Yes Nina, you look amazing."

"Okay then, now its your turn." She handed me a bunch of dresses and pushed me inside the dressing room.

The first on was an olive green dress, with long net sleeves.

"Nah! You look like an old cow," Nina commented.

I groaned and went back in the dressing room to try on the next dress. It was long sleeved, smoky black, with a glittery design on its right side. I paired it with silver heels and walked out.

"You look as if you got a glitter bath."

I took that as a No. The third dress was better than the last two. It was a pretty, navy and white summer dress, inches above the knees. Nina gasped as soon as I walked out of the dressing room.

"You look so stunning. Kyle's gonna be so shocked when he sees you."

I snorted at her comment and went to the counter to pay for my dress.

As soon as we arrived home, we rushed to my room to get ready. We quickly put on our dresses. Nina wore her with white heels while I paired mine with black pumps. I put on some black eye shadow and gloss and threw my hair into a ponytail whilst Nina curled hers.

We both looked at each other and grinned, ready to go to the party.
