[ayanna]

My mind was filled to the brim with thoughts and not a single one of them could tell me how to explain all this to Noah. I knew the boy was smart and sooner or later he'd be asking questions. I wanted to make Marco do all of this, since this was his child as well, but I had kept Noah in the dark about his father for a long time. Whenever he'd ask I'd dismiss it like it were nothing, so part of the blame could be placed on myself. I could've at least told him stories, gave him a description, or possibly just made something up, but I gave him nothing.
At the moment I was meeting up with Marco to discuss a few things pertaining to Noah and this whole Mafia deal. He may be my baby's father, but my baby boy not about to be all up in this drug dealer mess. If Noah was going to have anything, it would be a normal childhood and it would be over my dead body if he didn't have that.

"Thank you for meeting me."

I nodded taking a seat across from Marco. He'd arranged for the two of us to meet at a cafe nearby the office.

"Well how shall we start this?"

"Wow. Mr. I Can Fake My Death Perfectly And Come Back Like It's Nothing doesn't know what to do? That's a first."

Yes, I'm petty. But can I be hurt and petty at the same time.

"Ayanna I don't know what you want me to do. I've apologized and have tried to explain many times."

"Did you not think, for a moment, that I could've been trusted? Cause you do know that right now I could easily turn you in, with evidence, of who you truly are. Yet I'm sitting here."

"I do appreciate that, but I couldn't risk putting you or my son in danger."

"Oh so he's your son now? Oh on boo, you're going to earn that title. You can start off by explaining exactly who you are. Good day."

Grabbing my purse and getting ready to leave I was stopped by Marco also standing to his feet and blocking me from going any further.

"Wait. What about you and I?"

"There is nothing about you and I, this is about Noah. Strictly about Noah."

Side stepping around Marco I strutted out of the cafe. Though as I did so I could feel my heat ping a little. I know that hurt him, but it hurt me as well, but Noah comes 1st and always will.
Leaving the cafe I decided to grab dinner from a cute little restaurant near Noah's school before picking him up from his little soccer practice. Going inside I placed an order and sat down to wait on the food. While I waited I noticed a woman walk in. She was fairly tall and blonde. You couldn't deny she was pretty and had a nice body, but from the way she entered and talked to the employees of the restaurant showed she had a nasty attitude. Once she was finished disrespecting the poor woman at the register she took at seat not too far from me. I could feel her stare on me, but decided against saying anything. This wasn't America so I didn't want to come off as crazy.

"You know for a black women you're awfully cute."

Lord I know you did not just....are you forreal? Can we rewind real quick, because I must be going crazy. I could feel my eye twitching a little bit and my right leg started to shake. I took a deep breath and looked up toward the ceiling.

"Okay Lord, you've tested me. Now I'm asking you to remove this evil spirit within me. I've been good."

The woman continued to stare at me and she was going to say another thing, but the server came out with my order just in time. The lady better thank this employee, because her neck would've been snapped.
As I was walking out I let the pettiness within me take control and turned back to the women smiling.

"You know for a white woman you're aging pretty well. Have a good day."

Giving her one last smile, I walked out of the restaurant.

When I left the cafe I got into my car and planned on recklessly driving back home, but those plans were interrupted by my ever so living brother.

"Che cosa!" (What!)

"What bit you in the ass?"

I rolled my eyes at his annoying humor and waited for him to explain why he was calling my phone.

"Look I know you want Kiara to stay safe and all that, but can you have her stay with someone else? I can't handle all of this."

"Sei serio?" (Are you serious?)

"Yes."

"So you mean to tell me that while I handle our mother and all this legal bullshit, that you can't simply co-exist with your ex!"

I was angry. Very angry, that my brother did nothing but complain. The only thing I've asked of him is to watch it for Kiara and I get that she is his ex, but she has put her life on the line for our family multiple times.

"When you put-"

"I'll pick her up in a few minutes."

I said cutting him off. I had no time for his childness, there were things to be done.

"You don't hav-"

I hung up the phone before he could finish his statement and threw my phone in the passenger seat. This was going to be a little setback, having Kiara at my house, but there was no time to stop what I had already planned. My mother was truly going to pay.
