[no-one]

The four months went by like days in a week and now things were getting set to play. Only one person was truly ready for the events that were about to occur, and that was Marco. He'd waited over four years for this and wasn't letting anything or anyone stop what he had planned. Marco now boards a plane headed for sunny California to collect his very past due payment.

"Mommy are we leaving yet?"

I smiled down at Noah, he'd been surprisingly excited to move to Sicily when I told he and my mother the news two days ago. Though he had already known about the job months ago, since he too had to learn some Italian, I told and showed him how beautiful Sicily was and even though the pictures did the place, no form of justice he still thought it was amazing. I had remembered receiving the acceptance at the office like it was just two seconds ago.

—Flashback—

Here I sat in another meeting listening to arrogant men complain and pout about how things weren't as they thought it should. I on the other hand watched, observing these grown men fight like toddlers over a piece of stock. I didn't understand why they couldn't sit down and collect themselves like the grown men they were to peacefully decide what to do with this piece of stock.
Also to be truthful I only know many of these men want the stock for the profit it'll bring, but it was only worth around $500. I wonder if they knew that, if they knew the stock wasn't much would they still be acting like brainless adults? This made me want to inform the men of the stock price just to see the reaction or mainly seewhat the effect money had on them, but I found their arguing entertaining.

Sadly my form of entertainment was cut short when Daphne burst through the doors of the conference room out of breath. Giving her a look she quickly signaled for me to come with her. I understood her and quietly excused myself, but not before purposely changing the powerpoint displayed on the projector to the slide showing the actually price of the stock. Walking out I could hear the room start to die down, so money did have a play in this.

"What's going on Daph, are you alright? Why are you out of breath?"

I immediately bombarded my best friend with questions once we got to a space where we could talk in private.

"Ok ,so I came up for grabbing lunch and when I got to my desk I saw this-"

She said this very quickly, because of the excitement, while holding up a very elegant letter that had her name in gold.

"Knowing exactly what it was I ran up to around to your desk to see if you were there, but instead of you I saw this!"

She continued holding up the same type of letter, but this one had my name on it. Seeing the letter I registered what was happening. I could feel my heart rate pick up and my eyes widen, looking at Daph.

"We're going to Sicily."

—End Flashback—

Since I got the news my mother her house, then went on to buy a vacation house to rent out and use when we visit. Next we've moved most of things we were not bringing along with us on the plane to the apartment we got in Sicily.
Now we were packing the very last of the clothing we hadn't packed away in the boxes we sent off, zipping up Noah's small suitcase I placed it down by his and I's bag standing up to look around at the empty house I stood in. I smiled remembering all the memories that just my mother, Noah, and I had in this house alone, but I also remembered all the pain it caused. This was home, but now it was time to let it go and find the missing piece that has been hiding in Sicily, Italy.
